I do not adore the brass base, but I don't hate it either, and the rest of the Amphora Incense Holder by L'Objet is exactly the incense burner I've been looking for — except that I wasn't really looking for an incense holder until I saw this one, on account of I already have one, and if I was looking for an incense holder, I would hopefully be looking for one that cost way less than $150. ("From the time our earliest ancestors tossed dried leaves and herbs onto their communal fires, the blending of incense became a sacred and healing art. Earthy yet mysterious, incense is still treasured today for its ability to enliven our senses, cleanse impurities, and elevate our mood. The Parfums de Voyage collection features Japanese incense, which delivers the purest fragrance possible. Elevate the experience further by aerating and lifting the fragrance through a timeless porcelain amphora.") Available at Twisted Lily.

The problem with having made a lot of pottery in the past, is that I something cute like this and think, “I could make that or something even better..” maybe a dark glaze around the lip because the porcelain will get stained from the smoke… nice find, Robin!
I SEE something….man my spellchecker hates me and I hate it right back!
Ha!
The nice thing about knowing pottery makers is that you show them something like this and then a couple of months later you get a MUCH improved copy!
Ha, then I say you need to get cracking at that pottery wheel! I want mine in a pale grey, please. Maybe a dark wood base? I don’t know what the base should be, I just don’t like the brass.
Agree, I like the idea of a two-part urn better than the execution. It looks tippy, which is the last thing you want with something that is burning.
It does look a little tippy. Probably depends on the weight?
ok, nice grey glaze, wooden base with a footprint that says stable rather than tippy… with a grey glaze, I’d say wild cherry wood for the base. Any other modifications? 🙂
Beggars cannot be choosers — if it’s grey and it holds an incense stick, I got more than I deserve, right?
