Candle lovers, file this away in your brain right next to the Snoopy candle cover: Jonathan Adler's match strikes, available in a number of shapes including the elephant shown above (plus, squirrel, ice cream cone, kangaroo, horse head, among others): "Our white porcelain bisque match strikes are a perfect mix of form and function, featuring a frictional base that ignites strike-anywhere matches. [...] You probably woke up today not realizing you needed a matchstrike, but guess what—you do." $42 at Candle Delirium.

I did not wake with this thought!
But now…..
Exactly.
This is DARLING, too bad I’m physically incapable of lighting matches. (Or, I guess, lucky.)
Even strike anywhere matches?
(And I swear matches are not made like they used to be, like everything else, and are harder to light.)
I agree. Matches are not made like they used to be. I can try and fail with a number of matches before finally getting a flame.
It’s actually kind of sad…….
I’m not sure I’ve ever tried strike anywhere matches, but I can’t imagine that would make a difference, unless they have unusually resilient sticks? I usually end up breaking or bending the match out of usability.
Cute! I’d like it a lot as a planter… if it were bigger. Off to look at white planters… squirrel!
I’m sure you will find one, but I don’t think by Jonathan Adler. But if you were in dire need of a banana bud vase:

“Our Banana Bud Vase, a vase of Freudian proportions.”
You are very, very naughty. LOL
???? Well, I was thinking more

Perfect.
There is a similar product sold at Portland Saturday Market, so I will pass on this, but this is actually a VERY good idea for most people. If not for scented candles, than for power outages when unscented candles, gas grills and oil lamps would be in use!
I haven’t been to Saturday Market for a good 5-6 years until this past August and I was shocked at how different it was. I somehow liked the charm of the vendors being under the bridge vs. the stalls on the water side. I still enjoy hunting for the weird!
These are darling and I really want the squirrel one!
