The Diana Vreeland line has launched Full Gallop, a new "addictive heliotrope" fragrance. Full Gallop was the name of a play about Vreeland that appeared in the early 1990s.
Created by master perfumer Carlos Benaim, this eau de parfum is a celebration of Diana Vreeland's love of dance. She discovered dancing as a young child. Along with crediting dance for her posture and high self-confidence, it also gave her a sense of rhythm and cadence throughout her life. She would forever reference and celebrate Diaghilev; Nijinski; The Ballets Russes; Irene and Vernon Castle; The Ziegfeld Follies; Maya Plisetskaya; and Nureyev.
Full Gallop strikes an attitude with a hypnotic pas de deux of heliotrope and orris that dance beneath a rich, warm canopy of amber and musk. Moroccan jasmine and coriander are accompanied by an unexpected twist of pepper. Finishing the unique character of this gorgeous fragrance is Turkish rose and osmanthus, wrapped in daring sensual musk.
Diana Vreeland Full Gallop is available now at Neiman Marcus, in 100 ml Eau de Parfum, $250.

I had a vague impression that the other DV’s were not so hot, yes?
I have yet to hear anybody rave about any of them. Don’t think I’ve ever seen them in the SOTD? Or I’m not noticing.
I have never sampled any of them…and it seemed that the line was not that well thought of in the beginning…most of the remarks I heard was DV deserved more…they apparently were okay but nothing that innovating. I do think the bottles are elegant looking.
The bottle color looks great. The notes look good and will try it the next time I’m at Bergdorfs but getting there will be a nightmare…the NYPD is apparently restricting access from Madison to Fifth between 53rd and 56th definitely for cars and posting 50 cops in the area. It will be the safest and most dangerous neighborhood. This will force me to walk up Park all the way to 57th instead of zigzagging with the traffic lights.
I’ve had samples of this line and have given them away in my freebie packages without trying them myself. IMHO, the best thing in this line is the unscented body cream; how ironic!
Agree, it’s a great color.
And what a mess!
I haven’t liked any of the scents I’ve tried so far, but they have this line at Holt Renfrew in Montreal, if I run across it will give it a sniff as I like the notes and the purple bottle.
Never hurts to try. This one does sound really good to me.
This one sounds really pretty! I feel a bit sheepish about admitting my love for Outrageously Vibrant (the sandalwood one), since it’s been roundly dissed, along with the rest of the line), in Perfumistaland. Surely I can’t be the only one. ????
On the contrary, I’m glad to hear there is one that somebody loves! And no, you couldn’t be the only one — they wouldn’t keep coming if none of them were selling.
I’m sorry to hear that the line hasn’t been particularly worthwhile, when DV would seem to provide plenty of inspiration. That is a great name for a perfume. I’d love to say “yes, I’m wearing Full Gallop”.
