Indie natural line Aftelier has launched Amber Tapestry, a new oriental fragrance.
Amber Tapestry is an Oriental Amber perfume evocative of vintage perfumes where the various amber facets are woven together like a golden tapestry. Shot through with other textures and colors, it wraps around you like sumptuous warm cashmere.
[...] Amber Tapestry is based on a seamless and complete weaving together of jasmine and labdanum. I was after a particular jasmine aroma and a particular amber aroma that would lock together, and knew I would have to create that myself. I interlaced the various essences together to create my own dream of an amber base with labdanum and ambreine as the inherent structure; threading through it coumarin for soft powder, maltol for sweetness, and benzoin for rich texture. Meanwhile, shimmering ambergris embroiders a luminousness sheer texture and castoreum lends a touch of leather. I love combining Jasmine grandiflorum and Jasmine sambac because together they create an entirely new and richly layered jasmine. I feathered out the edges of jasmine with a bit of pear for fruitiness, and cinnamon for warm spice. I kept the top very simple with the freshness of yellow mandarin -- the most floral of all the citruses – and dusted it with soft heliotropin.
Aftelier Amber Tapestry is available in 30 ml Eau de Parfum ($180), or in 2 ($50) or 8 ($180) ml Parfum. Samples are also sold.

This sounds pretty fantastic…..
Yes it does!
I wish I knew about this when I placed my Vanilla Smoke order. With Afteliers (esp. the ones with ambergris, they either work really well or they’re massive fails for me.
Massive failures for me…which is just as well as I am still on a no buy…
Better than a string of “mehs”, right?
Absolutely!
I will be trying this at her open house the first weekend of December (hahaha, she lives walking distance from me), so I will try to remember to report back on this.
