French niche line Parfums MDCI has launched Le Barbier de Tangier, a new fougère fragrance.
If you have ever bemoaned the fact that old-school barbershop fougeres have gone the way of dinosaurs, then, ahem, may we introduce you to Le Barbier de Tangier? Soap, pine, lavender, moss….one can almost feel the scrape of the barber’s blade against our cheek and hear the snap as he pulls his leather strap taut.
[...] A surprisingly touch of apple and pineapple adds a clean, sporty freshness, and ambroxan adds a haunting ambergris note complete with its silvery driftwood feel. Clean, spicy, mossy, and charmingly direct, we would be surprised if this fragrance wasn’t an immediate hit with wet shavers and lovers of retro masculines.
The notes include basil, cardamom, lemon, bergamot, tangerine, lavender, petitgrain, galbanum, pineapple, apple, patchouli, vetiver, ambery wood notes, ambroxan, oak moss and coumarin.
Parfums MDCI Le Barbier de Tangier can be pre-ordered now at Luckyscent, in 75 ml Eau de Parfum for $250.

I wish they would slow down. The last MDCI seemed to have been only released only last week.
True, but they’ve only done 2 this year (and 2 last year) so all things considered, not so bad.
Good grief, when did MCDI stop seeming so crazy expensive? “75 ml Eau de Parfum for $250” seems almost affordable…
It is just slightly cheaper than a simolar sized bottle in Guerlain’s L’Art Et La Matiere line.
LOL — I was thinking the same thing!
My eyeballs skidded to a stop at “sporty freshness”. Nope nope nope
Yah, me too.
