Cartier will launch L'Envol, a new "transparent" woody oriental for men.
L'Envol was developed by perfumer Mathilde Laurent. The notes include honey, guaiac wood, patchouli and musk.
Cartier L'Envol will be available in 100 ml Eau de Parfum (and possibly other sizes as well). The inner "capsule" bottle can be removed from the outer glass container and carried separately.

Update: L'Envol is also available in 50 and 80 ml, and in a 100 ml refill. At Nordstrom, the 80 ml is $115, the 100 ml is $132, and the 100 ml refill is $92. Their description: "To break away from any known sensations, that is the power of the masculine perfume L'Envol de Cartier. A nectar with guaiac wood and honey notes, elevated with a vaporous musk. Woods, fresh, light, transparent, free."
Love the bottle, love honey and guiac, love that it’s EDP. Definitely going to have to check this out.
Sounds very appealing to me too!
Cartier is one of the loves of my perfumista life and they hardly disappoint me. It’s hard to believe that they are doing quite a stunning bottle to the male audience. Perfect name, bottle, color and interesting notes. I need it!
I thought the Roadster bottle was pretty stunning too…I know not everybody loved it.
I liked the Roadster bottle okay. You can generally count on Cartier to do good bottles: even their L’Heure bottles were good, which was a surprise, because generally when a house does a collection they put them in the drabbest, dullest bottles possible (Dolce & Gabbana, Chanel), as if that were a sign of good breeding.
Regarding the Chanel Les Exclusifs Bottles… they are perfectly proportioned, Exquisitely Crafted Flacons! They are weighy and Exactingly precise and are basically, iconic to what Coco herself wanted when she created the Signature Vessel for No. 5. Something Architectural, Industrial, Unfussy and Unsentimental. Something Clean, Modern, Sleek and Bold!
Haven’t seen the D&G “Velvet” Bottles up close but they seem to skew close to the principals of the Chanel Bottles and look Incredibly lovely!
This is always a good sign Robin. It’s hard to achieve something personal and interesting doing what everyone loves.
Looking forward to trying this if I ever happen upon it.
Not digging the bottle based on the pictures: it looks like one of those “hip” Edison bulb light fixtures. That said, I loved Roadster and can’t wait to try this one.
I’d be interested in trying it and I’m a lady (tm David Walliams).
Ooooooooooo!
Cartier… Here’s my money! TAKE IT!!!
This is going to the TOP of the MUST HAVE List!
I see this one has now popped up at Harrods as an Exclusive in 50ml ,80ml and 100ml, and they’re also selling separate refills for the 100ml only at ÂŁ73 – I would have thought the smaller sizes would be more in need of refills as can’t imaging draining many 100ml bottles!
Thanks. I think Nordstrom only got 2 sizes. I will update the article though…
I’ve tried this as they have arrived here in Bs.As.
This is a well crafted, smoky, kind of throwback scent.
A touch of incense, wood resins…
The honey is definitely there.
At one moment, when the fragrance is transitioning through its mid-stage development, it nearly derailed for me… with this I mean that some frags do not play well with my skin and if (this is my personal assesment, take with a grain of salt) the materials are cheapo, it all soon smells like soggy cardboard.
Now this has skipped going off road though I can swear I smelled soggy carboard for one split second. If that is all, I can take it! Drydown is developing nicely with still a touch of honey and plenty of guaiac. Patch and musk, though present, play second fiddler to the other notes.
This one is definitely going on my list. A gentle throwback to the early 80s… this could be “Jules” millenial son. 🙂
