British niche line Roja Parfums has launched Great Britain, a new unisex fragrance.
A dominant theme of leather takes centre stage in this creation, enhanced by labdanum and castoreum. The heart of rose and jasmine, warmed by a blend of cedar makes it warm, dry and sweet. The dry down finishes with bergamot, lemon and sage. This sensual fragrance is suited to both men and women.
Roja Parfums Great Britain is available now at Harrods in the UK, £1,250 for 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

OK, so I’m going to stick my neck out here, and say this: the perfume could be delectable-maybe it is; the notes could take it either way– but really, who cares? I have a sense that this perfume is much less about the scent than the price tag. And also, I think that purple glass on the cap of the bottle both ugly and clumsy.
Altogether very silly and vulgar, say I.
I forget: who is the winner of the Crazy Perfume Pricing contest? Roja Parfums must be a finalist at least…
He’s made a few stabs at the title but I don’t think he’s won yet.
I have never really checked Roja parfums out because the bottles are a bit tacky? Didn’t know they were so expensive!
They aren’t all that high…
Roja Dove left the ordinary perfume market behind long ago. Perfume bloggers seem to have stopped reviewing them, because why bother? I’m not sure who exactly buys RD’s stuff but someone must because he keeps turning them out.
Once, I saw a lady of a certain origin and of a certain age in Harrods, buying 3 of his perfumes just because she couldn’t exactly decide which one her husband would have liked.. She paid almost 3,000 pounds. In one go. So there you go, the audience of the offensively flamboyant Roja Dove.
Indeed! Great anecdote. I shall remember that one.
Great wealth is not always matched by great common sense!
Man, is that bottle tacky. And the price is ridiculous. For someone who’s supposed to be a famous perfume curator, he sure doesn’t want anyone smelling his stuff.
