Prada will launch the Prada Olfactories, a new range of luxury, limited distribution fragrances. All ten fragrances in the Olfactories collection were developed by perfumer Daniela Andrier.
Purple Rain ~ a modern version of Prada's Iris, with additional notes of vetiver and neroli.
Nue au Soleil ~ "inspired by orange blossoms dipped in gold", with patchouli.
Tainted Love ~ a lipstick fragrance, with violet and musk.
Un Chant D’Amour ~ "crisp cotton", with neroli and musk.
Cargo de Nuit ~ "the scent of a twilight passage on the high seas", with ambrette and cedar.
Day For Night ~ rich amber.
Heat Wave ~ night-blooming flowers.
Double Dare ~ leather and suede.
Pink Flamingos ~ "fluorescent pink blossoms", with rose and iris.
Marienbad ~ with vanilla, amber, leather, oud and incense.
The Prada Olfactories will be $300 each for 100 ml Eau de Parfum, packaged in patterned silk pouchs. They will be sold at Galeries Lafayette in France, and in the Prada boutiques in Milan and New York. Look for them in late September.

Wowzas! That’s a whole lotta Prada! Pink Flamingos?! Fabulous name! Double Dare?! Ha! I’m torn on these.
And $300?! Ouch! So yeah, I’m good. 😀
I can’t remember how many scents were in the Prada Exclusive series, but it was eventually more than 10. And some of these do sound similar to some of those — this one:

Might well be an earlier version of Tainted Love, for instance. Hard to tell at the moment since we don’t have very complete lists of notes.
As a professional film historian I will NEVER be able to wear a frag called “Pink Flamingos” Sorry, aint’ gonna happen. John Waters has forever tainted that name LOL
Double Dare and Marienbad sound nice, but not at $300.
“Un Chant d’Amour” is also of interest to film historians, because it’s an early gay film which has possibly the sexiest smoking scene ever (despite the fact that the two gentlemen sharing a cigarette aren’t even in the same room). “Day for Night” is another French film, and “Cargo de Nuit” is a French song, as is “Nue au Soleil”: I wonder (vaguely: I don’t care enough to do the research) if all the scents are based on movies and music and other pop ephemera.
There does seem to be some overlap with Prada’s former Exclusive series
Love some of the names: Pink Flamingos, Heat Wave, Purple Rain (Prince!)
The names are great.
And the pretty bottles – if they all came in 15 ml pretty bottles, I could see myself getting several of them. But, Tainted Love is such an inauspicious name, really. Not sure I would want that sitting on my dresser…Cargo de Nuit, Marienbad and Nue au Soliel appeal to me…
Oh, if they came in 15 ml we’d all be ordering unsniffed, LOL!
A modern version of Prada’s Infusion D’Iris?! Infusion D’Iris is already pretty darn “modern” to me.
Infusion D’Iris is also pretty darn pretty to me.
For the name alone I’m tempted by Marienbad, but apart from that, I feel very content to wait to hear whether any of these turn into major hits–for $300 it better be life-changing. (And even then what I really mean is, a 10ml split from a $300 bottle 🙂 )
Love the names, but when I read the descriptions they sound like what everyone else seems to be releasing these days…but a the price, I won’t have to worry about it!
I sure hope they got permission from Prince before using the name Purple Rain; he’s notoriously litigious!
Pink Flamingos needs an indole note. 😀
My understanding is that he’s been trying to get a trademark for years, and has not succeeded.
I think By Kilian did a one-off called Purple Rain too.
This sounds like the same line up of fragrances the have at The Body Shop.
I’ll stick to the new fragrances in Les Infusions de Prada series. Just bought Infusion d’Oeillet 🙂
I believe they have these at Saks now.
