Indie brand DS & Durga has launched El Cosmico, a new fragrance created for the upscale campground of the same name in Marfa, Texas.
The desert airs of Marfa, cosmic axis of West Texas. Creosote shrubs and sumac primed with Chihuahuan mesa woods - mesquite, oak, and pinyon pine.
Additional notes include desert shrubs, dry sand accord, desert pepper and khella.
DS & Durga El Cosmico is $150 for 50 ml Eau de Parfum.

This sounds interesting but I hope it it sold places other than Texas
It’s on the DS & Durga website too, but no idea if niche retailers will have it.
The good news is that Surrender to Chance has samples of this (I am waiting for mine to arrive). Even though I really like DS & Durga, Debaser could have been more interesting, and I didn’t manage to get a sample of their latest for J Crew.
Ditto…never could find the J Crew stuff in my local store, and did not love Debaser.
DS & Durga is sold in a hipster emporium near work. No doubt I do not need to say how very pricey everything is there for items that used to be sold in the Canadian Tire of one’s childhood…
Ha, I can imagine!
I love a creosote note. I hope this smells like the AZ desert. I had dinner in Cave Creek last night and it is just far enough out of town that the fragrance was strong, pure and emotionally overwhelming. The desert smell is possibly my favorite.
