British niche line Floris has collaborated with the InterContinental London Park Lane to present Scents of Summer, a new afternoon tea.
Scents of Summer Afternoon Tea is a collaboration between InterContinental London Park Lane Executive Chef Ashley Wells and Edward Bodenham, ninth generation of British Family Perfumers, Floris London.
The limited edition Afternoon Tea combines perfumery expertise and culinary talent to create a sensory journey that celebrates the beauty of British summertime.
Using evocative notes from Floris fragrances; such as freshly cut grass, jasmine, bergamot, citrus, and rose, the immersive experience begins with a rose pearl wheatgrass and citrus mist palate cleanser.
The sandwiches are enjoyed in the same way as a scent might be. A light rose pickled cucumber with mascarpone is tasted before the heartier notes of salmon and bergamot in lemon bread. A spicier combination of pink peppercorn and thyme chicken is followed by a rich honey roast pumpkin with crumbled feta.
Mini-buttermilk scones are served with Earl Grey infused butter, wild strawberry jam, pink peppercorn lemon curd and clotted cream. In the theatrical finale, Pastry Chef Luis Meza has designed a collection of cakes that celebrate the quintessential English Garden and key summer notes from classic Floris’ fragrances.
The selection includes a bite-size Jasmine tea cakes garnished with edible flowers, bergamot and blackcurrant flower macaroons, Peach Melba mousse, and a grapefruit and almond tart with violet cream. Fresh summer berries and chocolate garden stones refresh the taste buds between flavours.
The limited edition Scents of Summer Afternoon Tea is priced from £45 and will be available from May 18 through Sept. 27th 2015 Monday to Sunday from 1pm to 5pm. Bookings are essential and can be made on 020 7409 3131. Gluten free and vegan options are available.

Oh my, doesn’t that look and sound delicious! If that photo is an indication of what you get I’d be hard pressed to actually eat it. I just want to look at it.
Sounds like a delightful fresh MODERN version of tea, everything up to date yet traditional.
It made my lunch seem very dull 🙂
Wow, this makes me want to pay the fine for changing my return flight and spend a few days in London after my cruise in August!
Wouldn’t that be fun?
This makes me want to buy a flight to London. Sorry to attempt enabling, but if you’re already going to be there…It does have that ‘Once in a Lifetime’ vibe.
I. Want. This.
🙂
