Oooh, those sound nice. I hope the spicy notes (saffron in Sud Magnolia and cardamom/anise in Figuier Ardent) are prominent. The blue bottles are pretty too 😉
I hope so too! Not sure how these are conceptually different from Collection Original.
They just won’t slow down will they? I still haven’t caught up with their metal collection. Oh well. Cedre Atlas sounds promising although I’m kind of nervous (based on the blue packaging and the name azur) that these will end up having aquatic notes.
No, they’re in a rush.
From the sound of it, they’re more citrus-based scents, but join you hoping they’re not aquatic.
We must have a 4 x 9 or 15 mL travel set!
They do little travel sprays at Sephora, right?
If I recall, the price point was so bad for the travel sprays and one would have been better off with the 30 mLs – the flacons are cute and durable.
I got a sample of Mandarine Glaciale. I was *so relieved* to find that I disliked it. I know that sounds odd, but I could so easily go nuts with Atelier because I love nearly everything they do. I own four bottles of their scents (not counting a collection of 7.5 mls I got in a boxed set) and want at least that many more.
At first I thought it was interesting–it had a weird mintiness to it. But, it developed a sharpness that I couldn’t tolerate, and I ended up scrubbing it off. I do look forward to trying the other three eventually, though.
I didn’t see your post when I commented… maybe I won’t bother with Mandarine Glaciale after all.
My local niche perfumery carries this brand. I should really explore it more. Mandarine Glaciale is calling me but it’s glaciale enough outside lately. We even have a little snow on the ground in Provence! So perhaps I will wait a few weeks.
I bought the fig one which I regret 🙁
I think it was kind of an impulsive buy in the middle of jury duty as a little pick-me-up.
Felt right in the shop but since then I’ve not picked it up once..
well, maybe just one wear.
The Cedre Atlas was the SA’s favorite but my nose was completely gone by then having smelled a bunch of other stuff.
I do love and appreciate the 15ml size!
I’d been waiting for a collection of four scents to be launched all at once! 😮
🙁
I hope at least one is good. Maybe I’ll sample by 2017.
I do like that they’re going to offer these in the 30ml size. The fig sounds nice, but I’ll reserve judgment until I try it.
Wow! The Figuier Ardent will probably be the one I like the most. I really enjoy a good fig fragrance. I know I would probably like the Mandarine Glaciale as well. Excited about trying these out.
It’s unfortunately how terrible the longevity is on most of their scents, they are often very nice. The exception being Vanille Insensée which is one of my favourites scents I tried last year.
I was given a bottle of the Mandariene Glacial-effervescent is the best way to describe it. It reminds me of ginger beer which reminds me of the Caribbean. I absolutely love it. I also bought myself bottle of the Figuier Ardent which is wonderful more feminine. There are very few fragrances that I don’t like from this line. All of them are very fresh, and smell like their names. The Rose smells like a rose. They don’t smell like they are composed of a lot of chemicals. I have quite a few of them and enjoy them all. Of the four, the Sud Magnolia is not my cup of tea, but that’s because I don’t like how magnolias smell.
Sud Magnolia is my favorite of this set. Honestly, I didn’t expect to like any of these due to the citrus and aquatic theme that seems to hold this line together. At first Sud Magnolia is too sharp, too citrusy, and confusing to my sniffer but after half an hour this becomes a true Magnolia. They’ve really embodied all of the smells associated with the hundred year old magnolia trees that dot the landscape of the Gulf Coast. I am totally shocked by this perfume, as I didn’t care for the others In this line. Magnolia has been part of my scent memory my entire life; my grandparents have a magnolia tree that is larger than many of the moss draped oaks that line their neighborhood. It’s just a breathtaking tree and Atelier almost perfectly bottled it and it’s blooms, seed pods, bark, and the clementine trees that are just across the yard. I only wish this had more staying power! Also, I’d love to hear other magnolia suggestions. This blog has been my savior as I’ve learned about perfumes over the years. Love y’all!
