British niche line Roja Parfums has launched UAE The United Arab Emirates Spirit of the Union, a new fragrance in the brand's Aoud range.
“I spent three years working in the Middle East where I became fascinated with the odours I encountered. A luxurioius exoticism married itself in the air, which was rich, complex, and full of volume. In over thirty years of training, I have never come across a culture wich held perfume so close to its heart - the ritual of scenting was engrained as part of everyday life. This unsurpassed and cast a spell on me; I fell in love with the perfumes of the Middle East and the people who wore them. I created ‘The Spirit Of The Union’ to capture this devotion, in honour of the nation’s deep-rooted appreciation of perfume. The bottle is adorned with a cap bearing Swarovski Crystals representing the colours of the United Arab Emirates flag”. Roja Dove [sic]
The notes feature artemisia, bergamot, blackcurrant, clove, geranium, jasmine, rose, rose, ylang ylang, aoud, benzoin, cistus, cistus, civet, cumin, guaiacwood, incense, labdanum, musk, oakmoss, patchouli and pink pepper.
Roja Parfums UAE The United Arab Emirates Spirit of the Union is £395 for 50 ml Parfum.

I love Perfumes inspired by the middle east- if I had all the $ I would own many amouage perfumes
They had me right up to the price point! I would love to smell a sample…
Ah, if I had all the money! I’d probably be too busy to buy perfume.
Bottle’s gorgeous, the notes sound extremely promising, but ouch, that price. Still, for 50 mL of perfume, it doesn’t sound completely out of line. But why not do a quarter ounce?
I think this came out last year and was primarily sold in the UAE. Guessing the price is not a deterrent for the Roja Dove audience.
Another one of those “if you have to ask how much it is, you can’t afford it” items I am so attracted to…someone forgot to set up my trust fund! LOL!
I’m ok missing this – I love his Amber Aoud, but the Harrods exclusive he did, did not appeal to me. I’m not that much of an oud fanatic.
This fellow long ago left the art of perfume and has diminished his selling point to mere snob appeal. It really works, selling his clients the idea that the masses will never share in this luxury. Hurrah for them! Bet it’s lonely, though.
I’ve got a 10ml of this, it’s flawless. Really the smoothest most melodious oud-blend I’ve tried. And all-day performance. 600 bucks for 50ml, though, holy cow!
