They’re really milking this show for every last cent they can!
I say go for it…PBS’s funding is always in jeopardy, and Downton is their most popular show in years.
It’d be nice if part of it went to fund PBS then. I remember the yearly pledge drives when I was a kid.
They’re more than once a year now on most stations!
This smacks to me of cashing in for the US market a tad! Don’t seem to be available here in the UK & we make the programme!
Makes sense to me…in the UK, it is shown on commercial tv so is funded by advertising. Here, PBS has to pay for the show in other ways.
Sorry, Robin, I obviously wasn’t very bright in not making the PBS connection – I hadn’t realised it was on that channel over there! If it’s going to help PBS’s finances then I agree it’s a good idea.
Oh gosh, don’t apologize! I just don’t mind this sort of thing, and I want PBS to keep bringing over UK programming. Every other channel we have will remake a foreign program — even if it’s in English.
What, nothing for O’Brien? 😉
And they should have done a gourmand for Mrs Patmore!
I LOVE how the one of the related posts is for the Smurf perfume set, which I sadly seemed to have missed last year…
LOL…and you don’t want to miss that!
I know she’s gone, but I would have loved to smell a scent for Sybil.
Agreed.
So true, I mourned the loss of Sybil.
And one for one of my favorite characters who is still with us: Isobel Crawley.
For amusement, they could make it clash something terrible with the Dowager Countess’s scent.
