UK department store Harrods opened their Salon de Parfums — a new "retail concept for perfume connoisseurs" — earlier this month. It's located on the store's 6th floor, in an area that had been used as office space. As previously reported, eleven brands have separate boutiques: Chanel, Clive Christian, Creed, Dior, Ex Nihilo, Guerlain, Henry Jacques, Kilian, Roja Dove, Tom Ford and Xerjoff. A gallery features additional brands, including Liquides Imaginaires, Bond no. 9, Thomas Komala and more. Below, a few images, or you can shop the Salon online here.

Not that I’ve ever been but looks like somewhere in Dubai.
Pretty sure that’s the general idea 🙂
Why do I get the impression that if I walked in, they’d ask me to leave?
Ha!
You know, it looks way more antiseptic and uninviting than I expected. I don’t like what they (or Liberty) have done with their beauty halls, either — they looked so much nicer to me 20 years ago.
Yep!! First thing I thought was that it’s not a very inviting place pr somewhere I’d wanna be for very long..so, if they asked me to leave, I’d be ok with that.
Meh, i was in there yesterday and agree its very antiseptic. lots of little alcoves with mini shops inside them for most of the same brands you can buy everywhere else. The whole area was a lot smaller than i expected too – just a corridor. The Roja Dove perfumerie has relocated up here now & theyve tried to keep the same atmosphere the old place had but it now seems a bit pokey and less romantic now its located in an antiseptic white corridor surrounded by lots of other mini-shops
There was one other customer in the whole Salon when i was there on a thursday evening & staff were standing around waiting to jump on any customer who verntured in just to relieve their boredom.
Its only accessible via one escalator in the store as the rest of the 6th FLoor is staff areas so its quite hard to find- with no signage anywere i could see to lead you there. Unless you were specifically looking for it i doubt you would ever stumble across it
Interesting, thanks. I guess Dove has less stock now too since he’s had to remove all the brands that have gone off into their own space. Too bad.
I think this place looks pretty tacky and the perfume bottles on pedestals feel somehow perverse to me. Give me packed shelves any day.
I’m thinking of the poor displaced office workers…now sitting two to a desk…for this.
I love the antiseptic feeling that it has.. Why do I want to be testing expensive fragrances where I should be focused on one thing and not others at the same (like too many people around, other fragrances, excessive decoration, poor or bad lighting).
This serves it purpose, a small chic, consistent and intimate environment to buy your smelly guilty pleasures.
“The Roja Dove perfumerie has relocated up here now & theyve tried to keep the same atmosphere the old place had but it now seems a bit pokey and less romantic now its located in an antiseptic white corridor surrounded by lots of other mini-shops_ – this is sad.
