Demeter has launched Lemon Meringue, the latest addition to their Fragrance Library.
Lemon Meringue by Demeter is a bright and bold full-bodied lemon scent without any of the bitterness or shrillness that lemon can have. It has creamy vanilla undertones without becoming sugary or sweet. The fresh lemon cream is the star of this beautifully balanced fragrance.
The chemistry of Meringue is quite fascinating. When egg whites are beaten, some of the hydrogen bonds in the proteins breakdown, causing the proteins to "denature", or unfold and change shape. This change in structure leads to the stiff consistency required for meringues. The addition of cream of tartar causes the proteins to change even more, helping to create the desired firm peaks.
Demeter Lemon Meringue is available in 15, 30 or 120 ml Cologne ($6 – $39.50) and in matching bath & body products.

Could be fun, although I wonder if it won’t be a little too sweet. I haven’t had lemon meringue pie in a very long time. I used to help when my mother made it a while back when I was very, very young.
I’m not trying to be an enabler or anything :-), but the nice thing about Demeter is that, if you don’t like it, at least you haven’t lost much money. I just checked their shipping page and it says “Regardless of how much product you purchase, your shipping and handling rate will not increase.” Just sayin’ …
True, thank you!
Also, $6 on a mini is not so much to waste 🙂
Oh, and almost forgot — they sell spray samples now too.
Thank you Robin!
