French house Chopard will launch Rose Malaki, a new fragrance in the series that includes 2012's Oud Malaki.
Rose Malaki was developed by perfumer Amandine Clerc-Marie; notes for the spicy floral include rose, saffron and Atlas cedar.
Chopard Rose Malaki will available in 80 ml Eau de Parfum.

Sounds interesting. Does it have a data of launching or is already available?
Sorry, I don’t know the launch date!
I’d like to try this one.
So when a fragrance lists saffron as a note does that mean it will likely be a leather scent?
I got a sample of Cuir de Lancôme (which is so delicious) and it does not list leather as a note, but its the saffron that gives it the leather scent. So interesting. Is that always the case with saffron?
No, and Cuir de Lancome has other notes that contribute to the “leather” — birch tar, etc. The fact that leather is not listed as a note is not meaningful, they never list all the notes, and even if they said “leather” in the notes it doesn’t tell you anything about what aromachemicals were used to make the “leather”.
Oh, boy. Much more to learn! Thanks, Robin!

I got a bottle of Rose Malaki yesterday and boy, its heady…
It has a loud syrupy/sugary quality but the fortunately the rose isn’t that bad… Since everyone here (in Iran) cooks sweet delights with rosewater, if it had a foody rosewater scent, I would have been informed of how sweet and sticky (Halva-like) I smell but it seems that the rose notes are more floral than foody… The problem is you have to look beyond the other notes to appreciate the rose…
BTW its the first scent that made me think about layering (I’m new to perfumes)… Any suggestions to mask the syrupy parts without kicking the rose out will be appreciated… Perhaps some fresh lime or some resinous pine to normalize?…
One spray of this is more than enough to warm me up in a cold day and since I don’t know how to perform a half-spray without wasting anything, I think I’m stuck with it until I find someone fond of warm/sweet scents…
Thanks for the review!
