California indie brand Juniper Ridge has launched Winter Redwood 2014, a new unisex limited edition fragrance. It's the brand's third annual edition of Winter Redwood.
This month, the company debuts Harvest #2224-7 of Winter Redwood Backpacker’s Cologne, a love song to the misty Redwood canyons of Mt. Tamalpais. “Mt. Tam is my favorite place on Earth,” says Juniper Ridge Founder Hall Newbegin, who lives on the mountain and has spent two decades exploring its untrailed valleys. “Winter is the best time of year to lose yourself in its rich, quiet beauty.”
With spicy notes of Bay Laurel, Redwood, Doug Fir, and Sage, along with hints of woodsmoke and ocean, Winter Redwood will take you on a hiking adventure through this mysterious coastal wilderness north of San Francisco.
[...] Crafted in a hand-numbered edition of 337 using steam-distillation, campfire-distillation, enfleurage, tincture, and infusion.
Juniper Ridge Winter Redwood 2014 is $70 for 30 ml.

This sounds very good, except for the “ocean” note. I love the ocean and its inhabitants, but I don’t want to smell like kelp or cephalopod exudate. Perhaps it’s just a light sprinkling of salt?
Don’t know. At least you know they’re not using melon, right?
It’s natural, so no worries about ocean breeze dryer sheet accord:-)
I would like to sniff something from these guys. I don’t know if I want to smell like the redwoods but I would love a room spray.:).
The price isn’t bad…$35 for 60 ml.
