Indie natural perfumer Ayala Moriel has launched two new fragrances, Musk Malabi and Sandal Ale.
Musk Malabi ~ "A love triangle of musk, rose and neroli. Inspired by Malabi (aka Mohalabia) - a pretty Middle Eastern summer dessert of chilled milk pudding topped with rose petal syrup." With bitter orange, blood orange, cardamom, coriander, neroli, orange blossom, rose, musk, myrrh and cedar.
Sandal Ale ~ "Sandalwood hops between smooth woody warmth and fresh fruity apricot and marigold. Smooth yet tangy, piquant and intriguing, like an apricot wheat ale." With elderflower, green cognac, hops, marigold, amyris and sandalwood.
Ayala Moriel Musk Malabi and Sandal Ale are available in 4 ml Extrait (shown) or 15 ml Eau de Parfum; samples are also available.

It is ironic tha AM is not readily available in Vancouver, where she is located.
I thought she was strictly mail order and so not readily available to anyone to sniff in person (or equally available to anyone with a computer as another way of looking at it)
That’s my understanding.
AnnieA, there’s some good news on that front. As of this month her products (perfume, body products, candles, chocolates and teas) are now available at the artists retail co-op called Giving Gifts And Co located at 4570 Main St. Since it’s a co-op she helps staff it (one afternoon a week I think) so you could meet her as well. I’m sure you could email her to find out when she’s there as she says she’ll offer free perfume consultations.
(No affiliation here, just a fan of Treazon).
Thanks! Will wander over sometime.
Robin –
Thank you for making an announcement about my new perfumes – the first since the launch of Treazon at the end of 2012.
AnnieA –
I make my perfumes by hand in tiny batches focusing on providing personalized services (fragrance consultation and creating custom scents) and on the jus, of course – rather than wide distribution. If you’re living in (or visiting) Vancouver, you’re welcome to make a studio appointment to smell the perfumes in person, check out my booth at various seasonal markets/shows (i.e.: Portobello West); or if you’d rather shop in a brick-and-mortar store, select part of the line can be found at Dream Appareal in Gastown (where it has been since 2010).
And Lindaloo is right – as of February 1st, I’m a proud member of Giving Gifts & Company collective, and I help at the shop about once a week. As a matter of fact – I will be there on Monday, February 17th, from 11am-3pm. You’re welcome to visit – and even message me beforehand with any special requests of things you’d like to smell that day 🙂
That Sandale Ale sounds delicious. Does anyone know if it leans heavily feminine, or is it more unisex?
I don’t know, sorry!
relleric,
Both are unisex.
Sandal Ale is more masculine (being woody and all) and Musk Malabi is more floral (hence probably perceived as feminine by us mere Westerners). They really morph on the skin though. I even had gentlemen customers wearing Treazon, which is straight-up tuberose. It did not make them smell “girly” at all, btw.
