Robin, a long time ago someone told me that you should never purchase fragrances from places like Sephora, Ulta, etc…..
I was told that the concentration levels were tampered with and the bottles were not the same as in high-end department store. Because of this, I have never bought fragrances anywhere except the department store. There was one exception this past year. I bought two purse sprays of Judith Leiber’s “Leiber through EBay because it is no longer sold anywhere. It seemed the same, but I was just so happy just to get my hands on it, I didn’t care.
Because of your expertise, I value what you say. Please set the record straight for me. Thanks so much. – ScentFromAbove
That’s all nonsense…and exactly what high end department stores want you to believe.
I would not buy a fragrance from a street stall — they do have fakes sometimes, although more likely you’re buying perfectly good but stolen/diverted merchandise — but I’d buy from any reputable online discounter. There’s simply no reason to pay full price unless you have to. I’m not fond of Sephora only because when you pick up the fragrance bottles, they’re often already quite warm from the shelf lighting, but I’d buy wherever else you find what you want at a good price.
LOL! You have just created a monster! I love a bargain and buy everything on sale EXCEPT for perfume! With the new year, that means I will have PLENTY of fragrances to report when you guys ask how much we spent at the end of the world.
I have one more request from you. I am not very tech-savy. I noticed that I no longer receive daily emails from you guys (which I loved so much). I know you changed things a bit. I have been responding to NST blogs for a few years now and love it. I think that I have an account. I remember filling out some info a few years back. How do I know if I have an account and how can I receive emails again? Hope I’m not asking too much. Thanks so much!
End of year, not world (oopps!) Sorry!
