More limited edition collector fragrance bottles, with the usual disclaimers: in most of these cases, the juice is unchanged, just the bottle is “special” (or not, as the case may be), and some of these may not be available in the US.
From Comme des Garçons, the Perfume Architecture series: "Three limited edition perfumes for 2013 exploring new dimensional concepts around three Comme des Garçons perfume classics – Wonderwood, Man 2 and Amazingreen." Due to launch this week at Dover Street Market in London.
From Nicki Minaj, a limited edition of Nicki Minaj Pink Friday: "The Pink Friday Nick Minaj Deluxe Edition is a 'must-have' perfume spray created as a limited edition collectible for Nicki's fans. A rare find, this stunning statuesque silhouette of Nicki is colored gold with her shining nameplate and a fiery new glossy black wig. With a unique blend of luxurious ingredients, the signature perfume has a value of over $1,000. The intoxicating scent of Pink Friday Nicki Minaj is re-interpreted as a rich and seductive perfume - the ultra-luxe floral musk is intensified, emphasizing sensuality through its exhilarating bold and sexy notes." A $1000 value for $75 (really!) at Macy's.
From Parfum d'Empire, Eau de Gloire in a special edition paying tribute to Jean Cocteau. In 500 ml, at Colette in France.
From Giorgio Armani, a holiday edition of Armani Code Men: "Armani Code Men goes golden this holiday period. This limited edition packaging has the same classic seductive fragrance." 75 ml Eau de Toilette for $77 at Dillard's.
$1000! LOL. A thousand bucks, housed in a $5 wig shop mannequin bottle. If I buy it and save it, maybe it’ll appreciate when I try and get it valued on Antiques Roadshow in 40 years?
Exactly!
As another commenter pointed out, they said the same about last year’s holiday bottle for Pink Friday. They’re very generous over there at Elizabeth Arden 🙂
You’ll appreciate even more when purchased at the clearance bin in your local discount department store in May for 29.95.
Ha!
Some copywriter doesn’t understand the meaning of the word “fiery”.
And I don’t understand the meaning of the phrase “a value of over $1,000”, except in the sense that manufacturers get to arbitrarily put a price on their goods, in which case this scarf I just knit is actually worth six hundred million dollars (it’s made of a unique blend of luxurious ingredients) but you can have it for $50.
True on both counts. Hard to see how a black plastic wig on a gold plastic figurine is “fiery”. Wonder if the description is leftover from the one with the red wig, whichever one that was.
Not like the Ronald Mcdonald bottle…ran out of weird ideas I guess…now she’s just naked. I was wanting the Hamburglar this time;). Agree, it will be at TJ Maxx for 30 bucks or less before too long.
I do kinda like the Armani Code bottle.
I want those CdG bottles, I can live without the rest here today.
Am I misreading, or is that Nicki Minaj a pure perfume version of the original? Maybe that’s where the hilariously inflated “$1000 value” comes from.
The CdG packaging seems pointless. Aren’t those river rock bottles fun (and oddly soothing) to hold on their own? Why stick them in a metal frame?
Yep, it’s extrait. Very valuable stuff!
They look cool, but admit the original pepples are probably cooler. Someone else did something similar, stuck the bottle in a frame, and I’ve been trying to remember who all morning.
Paco Rabanne Calandre extrait was a clear glass bottle in a metal frame, but the frame (actually chromed plastic) was tightly fitted to the bottle.
Halston Catalyst for Men edt came in a test tube with a metal (or rather chromed plastic again) rack that looks very much like this: however, the test tube can be removed from the rack, and it doesn’t look as if these can be.
Odori scents come in a wooden frame that calls this to mind, only, you know, wood. The neck of the bottle is fitted into the top of the frame so the rest of the bottle seems to be floating.
That’s all I got.
Hey, that’s a lot! But no, none of those. I’m definitely thinking of another limited edition collector thing.
Just thought of this but she kinda has Lego Man hair, LOL.
I can definitely live without any of the bottles. 1000 dollar value? To who? Her? That’s pretty narcissistic! Good point about ‘fiery’, a lousy cut and paste job if true. That alone says it has about a $9.99 value to me.
Hey, so she does! She’s a minifig.
