Kuwaiti niche line The Fragrance Kitchen has launched seven new fragrances: Ambrosea, Luminous, Teardrops, Youth Memory, The Finest, Arab Spring and Flower Crown.
Ambrosea ~ a tribute to Udaipur, with lemon, bergamot, galbanum, jasmine, rose, lilac, musk, vetiver and cedarwood. To launch in Selfridges this month.
Luminous ~ an ambery woods with lemon, apple, cinnamon, sage, cedarwood, musks and amber. To launch in The Fragrance Kitchen's Moscow store.
Teardrops ~ with nutmeg, cedar, patchouli and musk. To launch in The Fragrance Kitchen's Moscow store.
Youth Memory ~ a spicy amber with mandarin, saffron, cedarwood, vanilla, castoreum and musks.
The Finest ~ with bergamot, rose, oudh, violet and guaiac wood.
Arab Spring ~ featuring bergamot, lime, green blossom, lilies, muguet, green tea, gardenia, white musks and birchwood.
Flower Crown ~ a tribute to Budapest; notes unknown.

I’m usually not part of the PC police but, Arab Spring? Really?
Anything to sell a perfume these days, I guess. It does seem like terribly poor judgement though. Or did they mean a spring like water, or springtime? Any way you cut it, I can’t deny that I’m so jaded over multiple new releases that no sniffing is happening unless they’re still here 3 years from now.
I don’t think it bothers me…but it is true that it would be very different if it were a Western brand.
