Olivier Durbano will launch Lapis Philosophorum, the niche brand's first fragrance not inspired by an actual gemstone. Lapis Philosophorum is the Latin term for the mythical philosopher's stone.
The notes feature calamus, juniper, rum, truffle, grapefruit, wine, frankincense, mesquite, ambergris, menthol, opoponax, myrrh, musk and oakmoss.
Olivier Durbano Lapis Philosophorum will be available in 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

I think I will be able to try it soon. Mr. Durbano will be visiting Poland later in September.
Good!
I forget my medieval alchemy/J.K. Rowling studies
Is the Philosopher’s stone supposed to produce imortality or allow us to change lead to gold?
Dilana, the Philosopher’s Stone grants immortality but it was also believed to change into gold everything it touched.
Does grapefruit seem like an odd thing with the rest of these notes, or is my prejudice against it showing?
Will have to sample, at the very least. The Harry Potter fangirl in me wants to buy it blind, given that most of the notes are right up my alley anyway!
I don’t know — did not strike me either way. I do like the line, so will give this a shot.
I find it a bit odd, idk.
Grapefruit + menthol makes me think of toothpaste and orange juice. Blech.
Or a badly flavored menthol cigarette.
Van Morrison made a double CD called “The Philosopher’s Stone,” so maybe the music on there could be used to make a promo video…
Notes sound too grown-up for first-grade Harry Potter …
That wild list of notes makes me think of something almost hallucinogenic. Maybe the wearer will just think that s/he will live forever! 🙂
Had to look up calamus. These notes do sound odd together but I would try it . I love Black Tourmaline!
I agree with the post that says grapefruit is the odd-man-out in the list of notes. And I hate graprefruit as well. All the other notes have piqued my interest.
