Lacoste will launch Eau de Lacoste L.12.12 Noir, a new addition to the Eau de Lacoste L.12.12 collection. L.12.12 Noir celebrates the brand's 80th anniversary, and is due to launch in May.
L.12.12 Noir is a woody aromatic fragrance, and features notes of watermelon, basil, lavender, verbena, magnolia, absinthe, dark chocolate accord, cashmeran, coumarin and patchouli. Special technology reportedly "reactivates" the fragrance when it comes into contact with moisture on the skin.
Lacoste L.12.12 Noir will be available in 30 and 100 ml Eau de Toilette.

I defy anyone to look at that list of notes and declare “Yup, that sounds about right! Can’t wait to give it a whiff!” Sounds like a hot stinky mess!
Could be, but could be sort of fun if it isn’t too sweet!
Sounds like a summer bbq bonfire party gone wrong, where its hot,you eat too much and its not gonna sit right. Fruity drinks, heady florals musking from the garden, spicy ribs, German chocolate cake and the smell of the wood from the fire. Apparently that wasn’t intense enough, they had to use technology that is meant to intensify it even more. I hope it turns out better than I imagine.
I’m expecting a fragrance for every polo color they carry now; flankers galore.
I think for this season and year, ABSINTHE is the new Oud. It seems every, or almost every, new men’s fragrance is featuring Absinthe.
bsinthe/Artemesia/Wormwood has been a staple ingredient for men’s fragrances and slowly has trickled into women’s on occasion. I’d predominantly say absinthe was more frequently used in the 80’s, 90’s and early 2000’s. Popular men’s fragrances for absinthe are classic RL Polo, JPG le male, RL Safari, YSL Jazz, Gucci Pour Homme, Guerlain Vetiver, Kouros (the white bottle) and more. There are some women’s as well, like Armani Idole and Victoria’s Secret Pink, but its rare to find in women’s.
The big trend I’ve noticed this year though is musks; Beau Male and Versace Eros to name a couple of the larger launches so far. We’re yet to see through out the year what the noses will bring.
I must disagree, a lot of the fragrances you listed DO NOT have either of those synonyms as an ingredient, maybe one…but todays fragrances are either using absinthe more or reviving it.
…furthermore, as for musk, this is ALWAYS a staple in men’s fragrances no matter what version or type (i.e. white, pearl, Indian, Tunisian, etc.)
