Brooklyn-based indie perfumers D.S. & Durga have launched Homesteader's Cologne Water, a new fragrance in collaboration with clothing retailer J. Crew:
After meeting with our head of men's design and hearing about a cool, foggy day he spent visiting Big Sur, D.S. & Durga whipped up a handcrafted scent that incorporates the wild herbs and homesteading history of the Old Coast Trail—think Monterey cypress, eucalyptus and dusty sagebrush, cooled by tones of coastal woods and sea kelp.
D.S. & Durga + J. Crew Homesteader's Cologne Water is 50 ml for $98 at J. Crew.

I like the concept…like the bottle…the price is a tad steep for 50 ml. Mabe one of these days I will get to the J Crew store and check it ou. Is it in stores yet?
I’m sorry but I don’t know. I’m going to look for it too next time I’m in the mall.
I have their Boston Ivy — it’s terrific, especially in the springtime.
I like the line in general, although I’ve fallen behind on trying their new scents. Wish they were easier to find.
Those in Chicago can find them at Merz Apothecary in the Palmet House – though prolly not this J. Crew one…
I think they also run smallflower.com?
Tulip: yes, smallflower is their website.
Thanks!
I like the idea of this, and although I would normally say that’s on the expensive side for a 50ml, it seems to still be in line with both J Crew (I remember the days when they were much cheaper though) and DS Durga pricing.
I am just waiting on bated breath for J. Crew to do a women’s fragrance/collaboration! I wonder if this cologne would be suitable for women…
