Indie line MCMC Fragrances has launched Savann and Amara, two new fragrances in the Humanity Fragrance Second Edition series.
This second iteration of her Humanity Fragrance Project - which is inspired by volunteer trips around the globe and is meant to evoke a feeling of compassion through its scents - took shape on a trip to Cambodia, where McClain fell in love with the people, local ingredients and landscape.
Savann (shown) ~ a fresh fragrance; "exuding the warm freshness of mango, water lily, lotus and musk, Savann is inspired by a child McClain met while volunteering at an orphanage".
Amara ~ a woody fragrance; "a luxurious scent of Kampot pepper, jasmine sambac, incense and Kambodi Oud; reminiscent of roots overtaking temple ruins".
MCMC Fragrances Savann and Amara can be found now at Anthropologie, in 50 ml Eau de Parfum, $58 each.

The original perfume oil from the first Humanity project is just gorgeous. Both of these sound wonderful and I can’t wait to try them. Will there be samples available and does some of the proceeds go to Cambodian charities?
I don’t know any more than what’s above…hopefully these will go on her website as well (they’re not there now) and there will be more info — and samples.
Love this concept. Influence of place and affordability makes these worthy in my book. Reminds me of the Hermes group of Un Jardin sur, etc. Worth a try, thanks for the info!
Hope you’ll like them.
Aw, MCMC makes some lovely fragrances (especially Phoenix). Amara sounds very promising as well! Love me some oud – incense, especially with autumn/winter coming.
If Amara really smells like roots taking over a temple building, I’m there!
