L'Occitane will launch Rose des Champs, a new limited edition fragrance featuring wild rose extract from Provence, in August.
Notes feature grass, lemon, pear, wild rose, meadow flowers, cedar and tonka bean.
L'Occitane Rose des Champs will be available in 75 ml Eau de Toilette and 7 g solid perfume, and in matching body products.
I hope the cedar balances out all that sugar and petal….
And that the grass isnt like in Memoir pour Homme *gag*
I like grassy fragrances — this one sounds like it might be a nice change from their other rose scents? We’ll see!
I dont mind grass too much; it’s just when it mixes with mint it’s like you can taste it 🙁
I am ashamed to admit that I have never tried a singe L’Occitane scent, even though I’m a faithful user of their creams.
Oh, do try some. Admit that I don’t own many though.
It’s the pear that’s giving me pause here. I unapologetically love rose scents (pink-cheeked little old ladies are my spirit animal), but finding one that doesn’t overload on fruit is tricky. Sweetness is fine, but sugariness makes me feel like a person I don’t want to spend the day with.
I’m inordiately fond of Diptyque’s new tender green Eau Rose, which I’d wager has a drop of lychee in it, but it’s carefully judged, I think. And I’ve a soft spot for L’Occitaine’s 4 Reines–the lotion, which I have, is especially nice when I want to forget that I’m a downtrodden, black-wearing, umbrella-wielding city drudge and pretend that I’m young, sweet and innocent again (ha! I never was!).
But sometimes toning down the pinkness of roses is great. Maybe this one will be worth a sniff. Maybe the lemon won’t smell like window cleaner. Maybe the pear won’t remind me of Del Monte’s fruit cocktail. One must live in hope, right? 😉
Pear always gives me pause, but also hard to avoid entirely. I’ll just hope it’s very very light.
This one does sound nice. I’m also glad it’s not one of the raspberry rose combinations. Those types have never worked for me.
And I think L’Occitane already has a couple fruity roses anyway 🙂
Hopefully someone tells L’Occitane that there are other flowers too, not just roses.
Pears can be nice, I loved Armani Remix, one of the few Armanis I liked. Maximally interested in grass, minimally interested in “meadow flowers”
