I would go for Citrus and Dry, maybe even combine them into Dry Citrus 😉
For some reason, these aren’t appealing to me. I think what usually attracts me to Smell Bent is the fun names.
Green and Citrus appeal to me. Its hot summer now, where I live. But I do find the names a bit generic. Its like calling a group of scents ‘oriental’, ‘floral’, ‘aquatic’, etc
I want all of these in the 4ml size. They’d be so much fun to play with and mix! What a fun idea. 🙂
33$ for all 6 minis. You’re right, combining them would be fun!
Not a bad price!
I agree, cute idea for a line
I have a generous group of SmellBent samples and they are all in a big sealed, double-bagged plastic box. They are so overpowering and unsubtle. I can’t imagine ever buying another one.
They definitely appeal to some and not to others.
what’s the general consensus on Smell Bent? Are they worth the cheap thrill?
As with almost every fragrance line, some of them are worth it and some of them are not. Ive had some scrubbers and also some really great ones that are FB worthy. Just give them a shot if you’re curious.
I would say mixed, or another way to put it, no real consensus. Some people love them, others don’t.
The ones I’ve tried are very, very simple — if they list three or four notes, those the notes you’re getting and there’s nothing underlying them to add depth or nuance. Exquisite Corpse? You get fresh dirt. Mama Cassis = mint and tart berries, period. A lot like the Demeters, more a scent than a perfume. The sweeter ones also tend toward the REALLY sweet.
That said, sometimes sweet and simple really works — Sunshine is fun if you want to smell like a cool Creamsicle, and St. Tropez Dispenser has a great, super-sweet, salt-and-suntan-lotion effect.
They all seem made for mixing and matching and layering, to me, and I am a big fan. Lately (the last two collections) there’s been nothing that strikes my nose just right, but the line is broad enough that there’s plenty to play with. The only scent combo I’ve ever had someone walk up to me and say “wow, you smell good” was one of my Smell Bent cocktails.
Also…I’m of the mind that perfume should be like candy. Just something fun and indulgent. But that’s just my perfume personality, I’m not looking for a powerhouse or a signature or anything of the sort; I just want something to play with, when I’m in the mood.
