Sabine Poncet has launched her debut perfume, S Poncet Eau Eternelle:
Mademoiselle Poncet, a French national, was surrounded by art all her life. Her mother is continuously painting and sculpting on various materials. Besides being sensitive to artwork, Ms. Poncet fell in love with perfumes at an early age. Perfumery is a work of art as master perfumers need to find accords that will fit together to create a masterpiece.
She worked and represented renowned perfume houses, including Thierry Mugler and Amouage.
[...] A balanced blend of exquisite oils. A whiff carries you from the Giverny Garden of Monet with its Water Lilly [sic] and Lavender notes, to the River Nile with its spectacular Pink Lotus and Carnation absolutes. Never ending exhilaration.
The notes for Eau Eternelle include jasmine, lemon, mandarin, grapefruit, carnation, lotus, lavender, clove, patchouli, guaiacwood and sandalwood.
S Poncet Eau Eternelle can be found now at Beautyhabit, $115 for 50 ml Eau de Parfum. (via beautyhabit)
I really like the bottle and box – at least in the picture. At the risk of sounding like a cultural moron, who is Sabine Poncet?
She is a French national who was surrounded by art all her life, of course! How could you not know her? LOL
😀
I don’t know any more than is printed on the Beautyhabit website…she loves art, she used to work (or represent) in some unknown capacity for Mugler & Amouage, she has a perfume. She does have a website, but it doesn’t offer any more information than that.
Okay, thanks. Now I don’t feel so bad – at least she’s not screamingly famous.
That choice of words, “represent”, immediately made me think “who designs a perfume inspired by thier lawyer?”
Made me wonder if she was in PR.
According to the above description, she is an industry insider, starting her own brand.
I had no idea who this was either. I think this sounds like something wearable, but it’s unlikely I will come across it I imagine.
It is too bad they haven’t provided more information on her website, or anywhere.
Pretty bottle, very appealing.
The description of the juice sounds very confusing and the notes seem like a bit of everything. It’s the grapefruit, lotus, lavender, and clove that make me feel a bit queasy.
Its like restaurant menus; they once listed steak with wine sauce. Not is fillet of beef loin with a reduction of rosemary infused maderia, shallots and aritsan grown crimini mushrooms
(or in another words, steak with wine sauce with some mushrooms from Pa.)
If you pay $15 you get steak with wine sauce. But if you pay $60 you get “fillet of beef loin with a reduction of rosemary infused maderia, shallots and aritsan grown crimini mushrooms”. (Approximate amounts, fill in your own costs for your area.)
I imagine some could say the same about the cost of my fragrance collection, but….
Meh, I say it doesn’t count once you get past the $500 level. At that point it’s a full blown addiction and there’s no reason to count the costs anymore 😉
It is pretty, but the box is even prettier.
This is some seriously awful copy. Sounds as if it were written by a 12-year-old and translated (badly) from another language.
But what I really want to know is: how did Beautyhabit come to be carrying it? Did they owe someone a favor?
I have a sample of this.. let me dab a bit on for y’all………….
er, actually spray…..
First impression.. ick. But might be okay. Kinda soapy. I feel like it can’t make up it’s mind. Not quite a floral, not quite a chypre, not really anything but fancy dishwashing liquid. I’m only saying that because I was just washing a bunch of dishes with some stuff that is a combo of Dawn and some Trader Joe’s thing. I had it in a big stainless pot, and this smells like the combo of the water, soap, sponge, pan and towel. I had to smell my naked wrist to make sure I wasn’t huffing something left over. This isn’t exactly bad, just confused.
I agree with Tama on this – I’ve sniffed a sample on me, and it seemed like a not-very-exciting aquatic floral.
I agree with kat, as the ingredients seems to be from separate continents-
This actually sounds like an interesting scent, but I wonder if I’ll ever get to sniff it (and I’m glad I’m not the only one who’s never heard of the woman behind it!)
