French niche line Parfums de Nicolaï has launched L'Eau Chic, a new unisex fragrance:
Add a little freshness to such a hot world!
With its blend of geranium, mint and lavender, l'Eau Chic is a little gesture of elegance: an easy-to-wear fragrance, identifiable, and long lasting.
Having always loved the smell of the geranium soaps that used to lie in my parents' bathroom, I dreamt of using the essence of geranium as the heart and soul of my composition. It is a delicious essence, however, it has a sharp, tangy side that you need to tame to your needs.
The challenge: soften it without weakening it, make it original without disguising its tone. As such, essences of crisp and peppered mint blended with lavender add a delicate touch to the Bourbon geranium. Santal, camomile and iris round this fragrance off with a slightly tangy tone coming from the cloves and spices. A cocktail of white musk reinforces the tone and allows it to last, and last, and last… throughout the entire summer.
Parfums de Nicolaï L'Eau Chic is available in 30 and 100 ml Eau de Toilette or in a 250 ml refill. (via pnicolai, found via cosmoty.de)
Wow, honest and interesting ad copy for a perfume!
Yes, it’s a nice change.
Yeah, this ad copy is much better than usual.
The copy is clear, understandable, and makes me want to try the fragrance! What’s up with that???
Seriously, doesn’t this sound lovely? It’s going to hit 105 here today, and today is forecast to be the coolest day of the next ten….
Sounds quite nice…hope it doesn’t take forever to get here.
Those three primary notes sound like my beloved Nicolai Pour Homme! Wild about the sound of this…
And I thought of you as soon as I read it!
I wonder how it will compare to Geranium pour Monsieur, which I will be wearing tonight in the 9o+F heat. ow.
xoxox
As did I. Can’t wait to read your review.
Oh my goodness – MUST TRY! Years ago, the first time I stepped inside an AVEDA institute for a spa appt, I was asked to sniff some EOs based on a survey they gave to first-timers. How I managed to bypass the rose, I don’t know (but there’s another story there). Anyway, the 3 that I picked were geranium, mint, and lavender! Granted the mint was peppermint… but anyway – The aesthetician turned it into a gorgeous blend of massage oil and steam bath enhancer. I was in heaven the rest of the day.
PDN is one of my fave perfume houses; however, I really pray that this doesn’t dry down into a generic white musk. That seems to happen with so many perfumes that open up with beautiful notes and then they disappear, leaving behind a simple musk. My fingers are crossed that this one remains beautiful from start to finish for me.
Yes, my thought too – the musk.
Oh that does sound nice. Usual problem for me tho’ – the Nicolai’s are very reasonably priced but expensive to get shipped to Australia. I think buying through the PdN site might be a bit cheaper than Luckyscent, which was $28 per shipment but I think it has gone up even higher ($34, or something). The free samples so far have not been enough to tempt me into this deal.
Anyone know of any cheaper way of getting Nicolai’s to Australia?
Is santal the same as sandalwood? And is geranium a note that is used often in soap?
Yes on the santal — that is sandalwood. No on the geranium. I assume those were scented soaps, and you can find geranium scented soaps but they’re not necessarily common.
The last July was the hottest month ever recorded in Washington – and I’m NOT talking about Capitol Hill! So fresh scents are just what I need. Very curious about this one and, like Erin, how it compares to Nicolai pour Homme.
This sounds tempting! My luck with this line hasn’t been the best, but these notes sound SO good!
This one sounds wonderfully refreshing – I’ll keep an eye open for it, for sure.
