Six Scents has launched a new (single!) fragrance, Amber, for the fourth edition of the fashion exhibit Arnhem Mode Biennale:
...Arnhem Mode Biennale invited Six Scents to create a scent that would encapsulate the event’s theme of fashion’s muse: Amber. Just as the largest fashion exhibition in the Netherlands is a reflection of the entirety of fashion, Amber has been translated to an olfactory form capturing her alluring, mystifying, transient, omnipresent nature.
Amber was developed by perfumer Darryl Do; the notes include sandalwood, leather, amber, violet leaf, cologne and green melon.
Six Scents Amber is available in 100 ml Eau de Toilette, 75€. (via press release)
I was nodding along happily until we got to the green melon part – bleurk…
Yeah, me too. Also a little mystified by the “cologne” note.
My perfumery kit has an accord called “cologne” – it’s just that classic citrussy green thing like 4711 or Mugler.
Right — but those notes are so basic, & so central to perfumery. It’s as though you listed “oriental” in the notes.
Green melon??? With amber? Cannot imagine these together.
There are an awful lot of fragrances with both notes though!
True. There’s Halston, Knowing, Il Bacio and Sunflowers for a start – all have amber and melon.
I think it’ll be quite interesting as a fragrance….
thinking about it is making me a bit woozy…
It’s the “green” part. It’s making me think of Mousson.
It will either be really “interesting” or just plain bizarre. Wanna take wagers?
See, I’d wager it won’t be that outlandish at all.
