Mäurer & Wirtz has added a new unisex fragrance to the 4711 Acqua Colonia range: Juniper Berry & Marjoram.
This calming scent creates a feeling of unlimited freedom, the kind of feeling that you only experience high up on the peaks of huge mountains.
The tart, fruity juniper berry indigenous to such mountains blends with peppery marjoram to create a fascinating scent combination which will quickly bring you back into balance.
4711 Acqua Colonia Juniper Berry & Marjoram is available in 170 ml Eau de Cologne. Also still in production: Melissa & Verbena, Lemon & Ginger, Rhubarb & Clary Sage, Blood Orange & Basil.

This sounds interesting at least – I do like juniper. But it’s tempting to imagine making a speciality martini out of this, on the rocks.
I wish I knew where to try these…I think they’ve almost all sounded good. And almost anything that would make a cool summer martini ought to make a cool summer cologne, right?
How about a gin-and-tonic scent for summer?
That would be Colette AsFour…which is no longer in production but which someone told me is maybe going to be reissued.
Refreshing prose, too – the opposite of Prix Eau Faux style.
I’d also suggest Navegar by L’ARTISAN PARFUMEUR. This is like a sitting on an old wooden dock at the seaside on a cloudy day whilst drinking a gin & tonic. Gorgeous stuff and very evocative.
