Canadian beauty brand Lise Watier has launched Bora Bora, a new fragrance for women:
Envelope [sic] your skin with the deliciously exotic scent of the tropics with Bora Bora Eau de Toilette. Blending the sensual, feminine notes of passion flower, jasmine and rose with the warmth of an exotic fruit cocktail and the sweet, hot traces of amber, vanilla and wood-scented musk, Bora Bora Eau de Toilette is your passport to the exotic. Now transport yourself to the tropics with just one sprits! [sic]
Lise Watier Bora Bora is available in 50 ml Eau de Toilette. (via lisewatier)
Geez, the folks at Watier need to learn how to spell!
Supposedly Zappos fixed the errors on all their shoe descriptions & saw their sales rise dramatically…it does seem crazy to launch new products and not bother to proof your ad copy.
That said, we’re riddled with errors around here at NST 🙂
Fortunately in my line of work (SEO), errors can be a good thing…
If you’re going to name a scent after a Pacific island, it should have frangipani or tiare IMO.
When I saw the name, I was hoping there would be NO tiare, frangipani or plumeria but didn’t Liz Claiborne already make a Bora Bora fragrance? I will make a point of trying this one.
I could swear *someone* made a Bora Bora. But not sure who.
I’ve actually done copy-editing professionally (on the side) and would be happy to work for perfume! But maybe not this one, which sounds like an exotic – fruity floral! Whee! How unusual! (am grumpy today. Sorry. Will try to be nice tomorrow.) BTW – NST has very few errors – none I can recall. So there!
Oh really it’s sadly true, I find errors all the time — usually on articles that have been up for years!
Well, but…. you aren’t SELLING anything, nor being paid, and yours are still few and far between.
That is true. But hate to throw stones 😉
It is either the PR people or the LW company themelves (a francophone firm) who did not copy edit. Sign me up for the job, please.
🙂
The bottle looks like the one for the new Hermes, Un Jardin Sur le Toit. Seriously – have a look:

I have a feeling they’re quite different from the side, but you’re right!
Did we mention it’s exotic?
That bottle and its gradient colour is very reminiscent of Hermes’s Un Jardin Sur Le Nil.
Hi everyone. My daughter is eyeballing this one and the other “Desirable” series of perfumes by this company. The only thing is you can’t get this in the US only in Canada. Where can I get this series from Lise Watier for my daughter?
I thought they shipped to the US? If not, you’ll have to wait for it to appear at the online discounters.
