Van Cleef & Arpels has launched Un Air de First, a new fragrance for women. Un Air de First is a flanker to the house's debut perfume, 1976's First, and promises to be modern but faithful to the spirit of the original.
The notes for the fresh aldehydic floral perfume feature mandarin, aldehydes, blackcurrant bud, galbanum, jasmine, rose, lily of the valley, white peach, vetiver, vanilla, amber and musk.
Van Cleef & Arpels Un Air de First is available in 100 ml Eau de Parfum. (via marionnaud.fr)
Sounds interesting. Hopefully it arrives to the local Neiman Marcus soon.
I hope so too…wouldn’t mind smelling this one.
I’ve got the original and love it – a classic. I know that flankers nowadays aren’t worth much, but maybe there’s hope 🙂
There’s always hope!
Aldehydic floral?? (perks up ears) Hmmmm.
Sounds like it could be a pretty spring/summer version…we’ll see!
I really like the frosted bottle too!
Of course, we’ve seen that name pattern before…. “Un Air de Samsara” – the gorgeous and underappreciated flanker – came out in the late ’90s.
Hope this one will keep its promise – I adored the original First, and the reformulation hasn’t ruined it either.
I like the orignal First, though I don’t wear it. And I like a flanker they did First Premier Bouquet, which is a super pretty floral aldehyde. It’s almost apologetic, but just a nice simple lovely floral. I look forward to testing this one too – they seem to care about putting out nice fragrances.
Sounds right up my alley! Like you, this is one I wouldn’t mind sniffing. It’s got potential to be awfully nice.
I love me some aldehydes, and that bottle is very pretty.
Oh! Some good news here.
1) The original vintage First is love of my life.
2) The notes for this one sound goooood!
but… where are the hyacinths so prominently featured in the original?..
Warum – you must have some lovely evening gowns! 😉
