Maison Martin Margiela is launching Untitled L'Eau, a fresher follow-up to last year's Maison Martin Margiela Untitled.
Untitled L'Eau was developed by perfumer Daniela Andrier, and has an increased emphasis on the citrus notes, with lemon, mandarin, orange blossom, spearmint, green notes and buchu.
Maison Martin Margiela Untitled L'Eau is available in 100 ml. (via mode.vogue.fr, aufeminin)
Hmmm…isn’t the original Untitled, pretty L’eau (citrusy) or is it just be?
Would guess this will be a bit heavier on the citrus, a bit lighter on the green, and lighter in general as well.
Hmm…another citrus scent then…I have to check it out..
Probably worth a shot 🙂
sheeeesh! I just FINALLY got to try the regular (untitled) and now there’s a fresher, lighter l’eau?? Probably need to try this. Last year’s is very green and “juicy” — the only part I’m not fond of is the chocolatey topnote (thankfully it fades quickly enough) –so if they’ve amped the delicious citrusy aspects, maybe they’ve left the chocolate behind! I love some citrus……but that may also mean that the longevity has taken a hit here.
where did I put the phone # for the boutique?
……. oh split book…where are you?
Mmmm, I wasn´t aware that there was a chocolate top note in the original! thanks. (I am a citrus lover too, so that would´ve been a huge turn off)
oh yeah—quite the “whallop” of hot chocolate for a few minutes. If I had to go on topnotes alone– (untitled) would have gotten the big thumbs-down! Luckily the choco. faded before it could start to make me ill. Then the dry down was excellent.
You must give me lots of warning before your next US trip.
I need to load you up with samples!
Thank you! The last trip was totally without warning and for work only, I hope the next one is better and for pleasure!
I do not get any chocolate at all, no chocolate in the notes…its actually a green floral with galbanum, boxwood, mastic, incense, bitter orange .., i am wondering what is in there that would smell chocolaty to you……
I don’t know! Isn’t it crazy?? but my nose says “CHOCOLATE!!!” but just before it says chocolate, for the briefest moment it says “ASHTRAY!”
so ashtray–chocolate—then it quickly morphs into freshly shorn hedges (which is good). whew! the first 5 minutes of untitled are unsettling! If I had tried this in the store: I would have sprayed , pulled a face, and walked away……of course I would have come crawling back an hour later…..
Betting that like the first one, it’ll take forever to get to the US.
I love the first one and I love smelling like shrubbery<3
me too! 🙂
I tried the first one but I don’t remember it. I’m wearing Andrier’s Rive Gauche today, a fave.
Where in heaven’s name can this be coufnd? I keep hearing about the original, but have never seen it. I’d like to try it though anything with a note of “spearmint” does not appeal to me (long story there and irrelevant.)
In the US, exclusive to Saks at the moment.
Sniffed this at Saks – it reminded me of Jovan Grass Oil and first semester at university…
I love the original – have my eye on a bottle. Maybe I’ll be finished with it by the time this one comes around….
Interesting! To me, how some of you describe the original is what Sarah Jessica Parkers (very good, I think) Covet smells like to me; a big dollop of high quality chocolate over a green galbanium/citrus scent. Are they alike?
I know you’re talking to Robin…..but I’ll answer just cuz I’m here 😉
I’ve not smelled Covet—the but the choc. over galbanum description sounds pretty darn accurate.
And I have not yet smelled the Martin Margiela, so I’m no help anyway!
well, see? it was good that I answered then, yes? 😉
I was so excited about the first one; I have been hunting for something with a note of boxwood — which I find very intriguing (in a love/hate, ugly/ pretty sort of way).
But when I finally tried Untitled, it just smelled very watery to me… I’ve always wondered how it compares to Sous le Buis.
In Australia this is being launched at the same time as the original Untitled EDP. Having smelt both I have to say they (to me at least) smell NOTHING alike – the L’Eau EDT is not simply a “lighter” version of the EDP. They smell like two completely unrelated fragrances.
