Mark Birley has launched Mark Birley Charles Street, a new fragrance for men named for the location of Mark's Club in London:
The perfect fragrance for the modern gentleman: stylish, dynamic and provocatively masculine.
The notes include angelica, nutmeg, coffee, thyme, carrot seed, rose, orange blossom, tuberose, raspberry, lily of the valley, saffron, orris, jasmine, amber, leather, musk, vanilla and patchouli.
Mark Birley For Men Charles Street is available in 75 or 125 ml Eau de Parfum. It can be found now at First in Fragrance in Germany. (via first-in-fragrance, additional information via bellemania.de)
Oh my! I have no idea who he is or why he owns a club but those notes sounds quite nice. I really like the bottle too. Looks like it has some heft.
He is deceased. Here’s his Wikipedia entry:

This is the 2nd Mark Birley fragrance (at least — I think there are only 2 but maybe I missed some)
The notes look great, wonder when it will get to the US?
No idea, sorry!
Mark was the proprietor of several clubs in London, the first of which was Annabel’s. Prince Charles used to take his girlfriends there for dates in the pre-Princess Diana days and it was a very very fashionable place for all the right people. The Barneys New York store in Beverly Hills carries at least one of his fragrances. I like to go to the store around this time of the year and see all the decorations, but parking in Beverly Hills can be exceedingly difficult – precisely because everyone else wants to go there as well.
Thanks!
