Parfums de Nicolaï has launched Kiss Me Tender, a new floriental fragrance for women:
A scent that takes you from vanilla to aniseed, via almonds and freshly-cut hay: truly an olfactory journey.
Additional notes include orange blossom, jasmine, ylang ylang, heliotrope, clove, woods and musk.
Parfums de Nicolaï Kiss Me Tender is available in 30 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum, and can be found now at Beautyhabit. (via beautyhabit, additional information via osmoz)

Super excited! I just ordered this yesterday from BH! I read on one of the other blogs that it’s in a similar group as several of my other favorite PdNs, including Week-end a Deauville and (MDCI’s) Un Coeur en Mai.
Hope you’ll love it!
This sounds very pretty – a bit like JM Vanilla & Anise, perhaps? I haven’t yet found a PdN I absolutely love, so am curious to try this one.
I did not find it much like JM Vanilla & Anise, which I thought was kind of loud. At least to me, this PdN is much more delicate and subtle.
Intrigued. Don’t think i found the JM loud.
Well, in JM Vanilla & Anise I thought that the Anise was very overpowering, almost to the point of a scrubber. So while maybe it wasn’t loud per se, for me it was screaming Anise 😉
Yeah, other people said that too. I love anise…you’d be hard pressed to make it too strong for me!
Too bad you couldn’t give me some of the anise… I got screaming vanilla instead. It was flat-out dull.
I was lucky enough to win a sample from Denyse at Grain de Musc. It is really nice!!
Thanks!
Vanilla, aniseed, almond and hay… four notes I absolutely hate in perfume. Obviously not for me. LOL!
The bottle is weird too. 🙁
Yeah, PdN packaging is pretty bad – but it’s cheap, which probably keeps the prices down. I’d rather take great juice in a cheap, ugly bottle than some cheap juice in a ridiculously overpriced bottle! Guess I don’t care much for the bottles…
I’m with you on the bottles: Yeah, they’re ugly. No, I don’t care, especially if the prices stay relatively low.
I will admit to really liking the shape of those little squarish 1oz bottles, though. They feel good in the hand.
$ saved!
That’s funny; when I read the notes I thought, “wow! four notes I love!”
🙂
yep, 4 notes that sound plenty good to me too! Unfortunately I’ve not had good luck with the PdN line….I really liked Tonka-Vanille for a while but that love affair ended and none of the others have thus far inspired a purchase. I’d like to try this (just for the almond alone!) but I’m not goin to rush out to find a sample. I feel a little “perfume-exhausted” lately in general.
I’ve been wanting to sample the line for a while (add it to my list!), but I think this one might actually make it into my shopping cart.
I sent you some Ambre Noir and Jour Ensoleille today, so hopefully those will help you recover from your perfume-exhaustion!
🙂
Have you taken your temperature, Daisy! Worried!
Sounds lovely, but for some reason I misread it as “Kiss Me Deadly” and thought, why are they making a perfume off of a Lita Ford song?
More caffeine please.
Oh, but that would be a great followup!
LOL, I thought the same! It would be a nice flanker- in my mind it has to have a note of AquaNet or Jhirmack hairspray as a nod to the big-hair 80’s! And, for some reason a bit of Chantilly in the lacey bottle…
I think it should smell like AquaNet and Marlborough Lights doused with Rum and Coke with a little burning incense wafting around the whole mess . . . basically me at 18.
Oh, now that I would have bought! LOL! I just thought the name sounded like a Bath and Body Works product. A little bland for PdN. Kiss Me Deadly would have been so much better! 😉
I will be trying this one. The bottles doesn’t bother me at all.
Ditto.
Hi Robin. I love the PdN bottles. They’re almost Minimilist Chic! It’s as if Nicolai is saying: I’m all about The Juice!
Yes!!!
I really like the 50ml bottles (the curvy ones). Don’t get me wrong: it’s not as pretty as say… the pure parfum OJ bottles (of which I’ve only seen photos online), but it’s better than a ton of the bottles out there, and it’s relatively unique. It doesn’t make me think of any mass market lines. And it’s simple and elegant in my mind, and focuses on the juice.
I’d way rather have the simple bottles than pay way more for the juice.
That said, I don’t love the 1 ounce bottles from the photos online. They look too generic to me. Though they might be better in person.
Patricia de Nicolai fangirl here. I like so many of her scents that any new one is a no-brainer must-try for me. 🙂
I’m not crazy about anise in perfumes, but I do love hay and almond notes.
Mmmmm, Vanilla (yum) Aniseed (interesting), Almonds (delicate and curious), Hay (atchoo, YahhCHOOOO! , sniff sniff, oh my!)
Sample please! Ya neva know, I may survive it!
Ditto what FOandW_oh_my said! I’m also in the YAY camp for great juice, cheap bottles. All of my bottles are put away so I only see them when I spray anyway.
I do the same with my bottles. That is not to say I don’t appreciate a beautiful bottle, it just isn’t necessary.
I will look forward to trying this!
I actually kinda like the bottle!
I’ve only tried the Le Temps d’une Fete and the Fig Tea from this line. They’re not favorites, but I do like to wear them when in the mood. The Fig Tea especially is a strange little thing. this new one sounds like it could be interesting – worth checking out.
hehehe, absolutely same here : DDDDDDD
This sounds absolutely lovely and i can’t wait to try it. I love almond, jasmine, vanilla, musk and hay! One never can tell from lists of notes, but still…my perfume weary nose (I’m with ya on this one Daisy) is all a-flutter.
I’m torn on whether this sounds really good, or reeeeeally bad. On the one hand, aniseed, orange blossom, clove and heliotrope: baaaad! On the other hand, hay, jasmine, ylang ylang, woods, and musk? Too bad I can’t split it in half and just take the latter.
This sounds interesting. The vanilly- almond heliotrope and clove-must check this out.
I gave this one a sniff a few weeks ago. It’s really nice if you like vanilla/almond/gourmand fragrances that have more oompf to them then a typical gourmand. It’s like a more complex Jordan Almond.
Thanks for the tip Aliciaanne.
Sounds a bit like L’Heure Bleue, just from (some) of the notes?
I like the bottle. And the juice sounds like it could be a great fall scent. Curious about the hay note- must check it out!
Aniseed, almonds, clove…sounds like my kind of fragrance! Will have to check it out.
Hi, im certainly intrigued by the notes listed here.
has anyone smelled or sampled this fragrance?
please do share 🙂
