Mary Kay has launched Thinking of You, a new perfume for women:
The message in this bottle is all about relationships and celebrating them with a gift that turns a moment into a memory. This feel-good fruity floriental fragrance also features a keepsake heart charm that can be removed and added to jewelry and unique packaging that allows you to handwrite a note inside.
The notes include mandarin, peach, plum, jasmine, honeysuckle, lily of the valley, tonka bean, vanilla, patchouli and musk.
Mary Kay Thinking of You is $30 for 30 ml Eau de Parfum. (via marykay, additional information via cosmoty.de)
I don’t get the keepsake charm part many do that like the JLO fragrances and I just don’t get it.I would never use it like that.On to the fragrance this doesn’t sound appealing to me it just sounds like a bunch of other fragrances thats already out there.I think Mary Kay should bring back their discontinued fragrances like Intrigue and Genji and Acapella. They had many wonderful fragrances too bad they discontinued now its all these fruity florals.
Oh, isn’t Acapella wonderful? I have a bottle I’ve been using sparingly for some years now and still adore it. It’s a lot like a less rounded version of the original Divine, but maybe also a little earthier and smells almost like there’s some incense in there somewhere. It was definitely my favorite Mary Kay perfume next to Tribute.
This sounds pretty, but I’d never use the charm for anything else than bottle decoration. Though the love note idea is cute for gift-giving.
I love Acapella what an elegant fragrance that was.Your so lucky that you have some left cherish it.
this same sentiment is exactly the reason I have spent this morning deliberating on how many bottles of Dzing! to purchase since it is discontinued. I know if I don’t get it while it’s still readily available online (even though no longer on L’Artisan’s site) that I will regret it. But how do I know how much is too much??? Decisions, decisions…..
I would stock up as much as possible keep in away from sun and well protected. If you grow tired of it you can always sell it.
I think Mary Kay has had some issue trying to appeal to younger customers…assume this is part of that effort.
Yeah they are trying to get that young custumers and this is how they can appeal to them. But, can’t they at least do what Estee Lauder has done they kept “The Classics” and also had their modern fragrances.
I really like the notes, and wouldn’t mind sniffing this. However… not digging the whole relationship vibe, it seems a wee bit contrite IMO. Robin I think you nailed it about the younger crowd.
And the social media crowd!
I’ve actually sniffed this, and it was a scrubber. The notes sound fine to me, but the actual scent was a chemical soup, harsh and artificial- smelling. Mary Kay is a great company but their scents leave something to be desired, I’m afraid.
Oh, too bad!
Perfume as upscale greeting card.
Nailed it.
Though it may make people hesitate to buy it for themselves…
I’m not sure what message exactly I’m conveying if I send someone a perfume that smells awful with the sentiment “thinking of you…” Thinking that the recipient is not good enough for Guerlain? Thinking that perhaps the sentiment will overcome the perfume? Hmmm…,
