Indie botanical line Roxana Illuminated Perfume has launched Gracing the Dawn:
The latest fragrance is part of a series titled Flowers of Fortune associated with artwork by her award winning husband Greg Spalenka.
The fragrance and inspired image is called Gracing the Dawn, a reference to the Three Graces from Greek mythology. Fantastical butterflies sit on the bough of a tree with freshly opened blossoms just as the first light of dawn illuminates the sky. The first edition of the 7ml flacons will feature a tincture of violets created this last Spring.
Gracing the Dawn is a floral chypre featuring a bouquet of some of the most expensive botanical aromatics found on planet earth. The perfume is velvety and sultry evoking a vintage from days long gone or perhaps an alternate dimension where we glimpse luminous winged sprites on a wet, black bough.
A myriad of exotic essences are artfully woven in this composition including Cestrum nocturnum, Night Queen, from South India. The main notes in this botanical medley include violet, mimosa, wood, and Italian bergamot.
Gracing the Dawn is available in Perfume Extrait in several sizes; it can be found at the Roxana Illuminated Perfume shop at Etsy. (via press release)
This, like all of Roxana’s perfumes, sounds amazing. I wish that they were a touch more affordable, like SL 😉
I wasn’t familiar with this line, but like that they have the sampler pack. Yes, a wee bit on the spendy side. Not that I have any judgment when it comes to spending, it seems.
I’m also tempted by the sampler pack. I’d love to hear about it if anyone has tried it.
Yep! But you’ll usually pay more for indie natural.
I love the name of this one, and the fragrance sounds lovely, too!
It is a great name!
This sounds really pretty. Particularly the ‘vintage’ reference. I do love “old-fashioned” frags as much as fruity ones so it’s always a happy discovery when I find one that’s done well. This line is so tempting… I loved her concept for the box of chocolates though I didn’t actually try any of the frags.
The chocolate series was a great idea, agree.
Ahh her stuff is expensive but I think her solids are the way to go on that and they are cute to boot.
I love slathering lil’ solids on my skin, one of life’s small pleasures. I love V&SPP’s Jasmine Orange Blossom solid, I rub it on my nose before bed, that’s the ticket to a good nights sleep, huffin that in my dreams. 🙂
The solids I want to get from Roxanna are Sierra, Chaparral, Q and Vera. All beautiful and special. I just need more $$ . ha
I hate that I’m not a millionaire folks!
Have a great weekend everybody.
Brain dead…what is V&SPP?
I believe it’s Velvet & Sweet Pea Perfumes 🙂
Of course, thanks!!
Can’t find Gracing the Dawn for sale on Etsy. Has anyone else been able to purchase a sample?
I’m not of a mind to purchase, but I was just looking over there too and it seems there’s none up on the etsy site. I guess I’d email her via etsy if you’re interested.
Sorry…was told it went on sale the 21st, but should have checked this morning before I posted.
