L'Occitane has launched Verdon, a new range for men inspired by the Verdon Gorge in the south of France. In addition to grooming products ranging from Face Wash to Deodorant, the line includes Verdon Eau de Toilette, a sporty aquatic fragrance:
Dive into the heart of fresh waters and gorges of the VERDON valley in Haute-Provence with this Eau de Toilette. The fresh and stimulating blend of peppermint, citrus and aquatic notes instantly recalls the sensations of a day spent in nature.
Additional notes include bergamot, lemon, lavender and cedar.
L'Occitane Verdon is available in 50 ml Eau de Toilette, $30. (via usa.loccitane)
It’s an ok generic man scent. Boyfriend liked the moisturizing-thingie, but hasn’t touched the sample-wipes.
It’s hard at this point to do a sporty aquatic that doesn’t smell generic…the category is pretty crowded at this point!
I was hoping maybe an overdose of peppermint might make it different. L’O’s men’s line generally don’t do it for me, but maybe as a shaving product…
Looks like for this particular line, the EdT is not the main point — the grooming products are. So might be worth a shot…
I generally like L’Occitane’s perfumer, whoever he might be, so this is a little disappointing. My only puzzlement is that they have their lines sexed at all. Most of their stuff with few exceptions would look and smell unisex to most people. I am sure they know what they are doing though.
They use different perfumers for different products, like many companies — no house perfumer. I agree many of the products smell unisex.
It used to be fun to go into a big L’ Occitane store but as they reach for a bigger market I don’ t enjoy the products so much, in particular the fragrances. I ‘ll check this out anyway. I miss many of their old products but I must be the only one or they would not be discontinued.
Agree. Don’t like their products as well as I used to when they were smaller.
