New York-based indie natural line Tallulah Jane has launched three new fragrances:
Misae (shown) ~ "Redolent of an April stroll in the gardens and groves of Saint-Paul de Vence, Misae is a breath of springtime on the Cote d'Azur. Brilliant citrus is embraced by white and green florals all the while grounded by hints of wood and balsam."
Leotie ~ "A deep bouquet of meadow flowers baths the senses in their essence. Elegant, enchanting and decisively feminine."
Yiska ~ "Yiska for men is bold and contemporary in its opening citrus notes before subtle florals widen its experience. Woods, tea and leather round off this fresh yet sophisticated scent."
Tallulah Jane Misae, Leotie and Yiska are available in 30 ml Eau de Parfum. (via tallulahjanenyc)
Never heard of them before. Sound lovely and they have a nice sample program too….trying to decide which 3 to try!
[[ red alert: NATURAL ]] That’s all.
LOL — you got that right! me and naturals don’t usually get along….and that’s the only thing that’s stayed my hand! 😉
I’ve never tried any…
They do sound nice – and I like their logo.
Me too.
Ooo, and the CO Bigelow in the city is carrying them! I was going there this week anyway to see if the Zents soaps were still on sale – perhaps I will try one of these. The Leotie sounds nummy.
Let us know!
My day had already been fairly nasty when I finally got to C.O. Bigelow’s and sprayed these directly on skin.
Given the day I was having, I should really have been able to predict that these would not just be not interesting, but downright *awful*. I had Leotie on one arm and Misae on the other and AGGGHHHHH! I spent five minutes wandering around the store trying to find something to get it off with. I finally rubbed some spritzes of a handy bottle of Carthusia over the stuff. Now (four hours later) my arm smells almost bearable but I suspect it’s the Carthusia, not the Tallulah Jane.
The Leotie was the worse of the two, and that was the one I had specifically wanted to try. It was supposed to be a meadow of flowers. It was piney and green and I couldn’t identify anything floral in it at all. Misae I got a less clear impression of except that it had some sort of a chemical sugar note.
I have no anti-natural prejudice (seeing Daisy’s comment above) – I LOVE Buddha Fig, which I bought because of the NST review. It was just – a nauseating scent, really, not particularly bitter or sweet, just – stomach-turning. Honestly I’ve never had that reaction to ANY scent that I can ever think of. Even vintage scents with the top notes gone off have never struck me in quite that way before.
I sniffed the oil bottles, just in case it was less objectionable than the EDP – nope. Sadness! Though I should be happy for yet another expenditure avoided.
Fortunately the Zents stuff WAS still on sale. 🙂 They’re selling off their inventory at half price, they’re not going to carry it any more. Ore is really nice; I’m stocking up.
Ack. Thanks so much for reporting back! At least you got some Zents.
These do sound lovely – but sadly many “natural” scents smell basically alike to me, and on me as well. Sigh. I’ll keep trying anyway though!
I don’t have that problem, fortunately or unfortunately 😉
