Royal Apothic has launched Perfumatorium, a collection of personal fragrances based on scents from the line's home fragrance range. There are four fragrances: Japonesque, Cutting Garden, Versailles Afternoon and Venetian Grove.
Japonesque (shown above) ~ "The delicate sophistication of Japonesque pays homage to the ancient tea ceremonies of Japan. The arrivals of dignitaries and royals from abroad were marked by the ritual—unleashing an aroma of Green Macha and the flavors of Jasmine and Rose."
Cutting Garden ~ "The gorgeous blossoms in the garden of Windsor blanket the ground in white year-round and fill the air with the gentle scent of Gardenia, Rose, Star Jasmine, Lily, Iris and Tuberose. The blooms that once filled the vases and rooms of royalty for centuries are directed in a sophisticated floral symphony of Cutting Garden."
Versailles Afternoon ~ "The French courts have remained a playground of Aristocracy and this is apparent no place more than Versailles. On a spring day, the wind carries a fragrance laced with the nectar of Ripe Tangerine and Orange Blossom, folded with Tuberose and Carnation. Complete with a base fragranced by heady indulgence, the prescription captures the true essence of a French afternoon."
Venetian Grove ~ "Behind a palatial Villa in Santorini, Italy, lies a grove where for centuries royalty has been known to frolic. It is in this magical place where the vines of sweet Currant intertwine the roots of Orange trees, the fragrance of the blossoms blending with the ripe fruit at it’s base. If one closes their eyes, you could almost see the twinkle of lights and flicker of candles as the masked court takes the floor to dance under the stars."
Please note that the descriptions of Versailles Afternoon and Venetian Grove are for the home fragrance products, and I do not know if they accurately describe the personal fragrances.
Royal Apothic Japonesque, Cutting Garden, Versailles Afternoon and Venetian Grove are $34 each for 60 ml Eau de Parfum. (via royalapothic)
“Santorini, Italy”? Umm…I’m pretty sure that Santorini is in Greece. I even did a Google search to see if a place called Santorini in Italy would show up. Nope.
The Santorini I know is in Greece too. Lol. =)
Hey, it’s all the same, right? LOL….
Wherever it is, we know there will be frolicking royalty.
Yes Miss Kitty! I was going to say – i want to frolic with royalty in a magical Ventian grove.
Hrm. That’s a big woopsie. Maybe someone got very confused. There may be a “Villa Santorini” somewhere near Venice, and in fact, I found a small town outside Venice with a street called “Via Santorini”… but… no.
Maybe they meant Sicily? Sicilini?
The place is so secret and exclusive, only royalty know about it. Even google doesn’t know about it LOL!
34 dollars? I’m in just for the pretty bottle.
It’s a pretty darned good price.
I know – right?! I can try them all in FB @ that price! Wheeee!
Reminds me I need to swing by Anthropologie again to see if they have that Marigold extract in stock yet.
Joe – they had it my Anthropologie about 2 weeks ago. I was waiting for my laptop to get fixed by the Apple Geniuses next door, so no time to *really* test it, but the whiff I got smelled herbally/floral; still no strong marigold note that I could detect. Going back to give it another try has been on my list of things to do. I love the smell of marigolds. Completely brings me back to my childhood!
M: did you spend your childhood in India by chance? One of my favorite images are the marigold wedding garlands and imagery in Mira Nair’s “Monsoon Wedding.” We always had them growing up in New Jersey too, so I also love the weird, pungent smell.
You know I hadn’t made the connection between marigolds & India (I did spend time there as a child and Monsoon Wedding is a family-favorite film), but I also hail from New Jersey (!!) where they are all the rage! We had them in our garden as far back as I can remember and I used to bring them home from Spring flower sales at school for my mom to plant. 🙂 So let me ask, are you from North Jersey or South Jersey? Or are you from “the Shore”? 😉
LOL. Funny! I went to junior high and high school near “The Shore” (in Ocean County, near Great Adventure if you know that). But my family is as “Central Jersey” as you can get: Trenton/Mercer area.
You?
Haha! For some reason I could not reply to your comment, Joe, so I’m replying to my own. Central Jersey & Mercer County here, too! LOL (What’s that about it being a “small world”?) And I do know Great Adventure, Ocean County, etc. I mean, who in Jersey doesn’t end up at Great Adventure at some point HAHA!
PBI: I’m wondering if we live close to each other, as the Apple store I go to is right next to Anthropologie at a nearby shopping place, too… or maybe it’s just coincidence.
OK — the world is officially too small. I am also from the Trenton/ Mercer/ central NJ area. Can we have a local perfume confab or scent hunt some time? Meet for coffee and trade samples? Think about it….
Ha, that’s funny. But I think there is some confusion…I’m no longer in NJ but grew up in that area.
NC?
I have samples of the Marigold & Green Tea, but haven’t gotten to them yet.
“Frolicking royalty” is right up there with “arms akimbo” as one of my favorite word combo/images, my all time fave being “bell bottoms flapping angrily” (“Bored of the Rings”). That said, these sound like fun, although for $34 (beyond the ‘new free’; it’s like they’re paying YOU) I bet that cute bulb atomizer croaks after a few good squeezes.
They do sound like they could be fun, and the price & packaging are right.
I was all ready to hate these, but that Japonesque sounds really good. Still blinking in disbelief at the $34 price tag. Well, alright! I can go for that.
that price IS pretty lovely, and what a great bottle. I’ve been looking for an atomizer bottle that will look good on my table/match with my color scheme. Haven’t had much luck yet but I think this will do!!! ugh, I really shouldnt buy unsniffed….
Don’t buy unsniffed!
I love the smell of marigolds too, I have spent time in Oaxaca and they are used to decorate the altars on the Day of the Dead.
A new layer of meaning to the odor for me, also the Copal incense is very like some of the new perfumes I have tried, Balsamo Della Mecca, and SSS Incense Pure.
It’s a wonderful smell…
Beautiful bottles at a great price. I will probably get one or two even if the descriptions may be geographically inaccurate, haha.
They are worth a try.
These do sound fun, and I think I must also find a way to sample them. Anthropologie you say? There’s one of those around here someplace. And does anyone live near Dallas by any chance? I need a scent buddy to go out sniffing with.
Anthropologie has their other line –

But don’t know if they have these
