Jo Wood Organics has launched two new Ecocert-certified natural fragrances, Tula and Langa:
Tula (shown above) ~ "A big white floral fragrance. Tula means “quiet” in Swahili. With an exotic heart of frangipani and jasmine, on a ylang and sandalwood base with a hint of green anise notes."
Langa ~ "A fresh, zesty and uplifting scent. Langa means “sunshine” in Swahili. Fresh top notes of oranges and Sicilian lemon on a floral heart of neroli. Nesting on a cedarwood and vanilla base."
Jo Wood Tula and Langa are available in 50 ml Eau de Toilette (£36), and can be found now at Escentual in the UK or at the Jo Wood website. (via jowoodorganics)
Both sound great! There is time to get some really good stuff on the organic perfume market. The organic industry is still growing.
They do sound nice, and I like the bottles.
There is an option to request samples on their website too although I don’t know if they’ll ship internationally.
I tried Tula and Langa body creams and both were pleasant. This also reminded me that I need to dig out the samples of their other two fragrances (Amka and Usiku) and test them properly.
Pretty sure I’ve got samples somewhere too. Ack, can’t even remember.
Abyss: I don’t see anything about requesting samples.
I was curious, so for anyone else wondering, there’s this from the website: “Jo’s inspiration for her Jo Wood Organics range is influenced by her passion for Africa; Jo’s mother is South African, and can trace family ancestors to the Zulu’s. The fragrances have been given Swahili and Xhosa names, Amka, Usiku, Tula and Langa.”
Both sound interesting, and samples would be nice.
You are right, Joe, I can’t find it either. It looks like they changed the website since I last visited it. My bad!
You can get samples at Beautyhabit, although they don’t have these 2 yet.
Mmm. I’d love to sample all four from the line. There’s never such a thing as too many big white florals or citrus frags in my collection. 😀
🙂
I find a big white floral “Quiet” rather paradoxical.
Man, they sound nice and they’re cheap! I have a hard time aligning myself with the “natural” cause but if they were all this cheap….
That is funny!
I’m seeing a lot of cedarwood mixed in with citruses–Jo Malone’s Sweet Lime and Cedar among them. I like my citrus straight up, not mixed with moth repellent. I hope it’s not a trend, like cantaloupe was last year.
Luckily I like cedar 🙂
I love the bottles, and Tula sounds so pretty. Of all her perfumes, this one certainly stands out for me as a must sniff 🙂
Do you know if Jo Wood uses ANY synthetic ingredients at all? Not that I am opposed to synthetic ingredients 😉
I keep wondering when the IFRA regulations/restrictions are going to trickle down here…am I wrong in thinking they will make a huge dent in the organic/natural perfume market? If one is not using synthetics, one would think that doesn’t leave a lot of room for “big white florals”, organic or otherwise.
They say they’re certified organic, so that would seem to preclude using synthetics (although usually that means a percentage, and don’t know what the percentage requirements are with Ecocert)
