Masaki Matsushima has launched Art by Masaki:
art by Masaki preludes with a veritable explosion of juicy fruits (Bergamot, Ume and Carambola) which provides an alacritous opening in the top notes. The heart note seduces with its delicate compositions of cherry blossom, tea rose and linenblossom. The fond conveys, with its impeccable blend of white cedarwood and pure musk, an infinite feeling of carefree joie de vivre.
Masaki Matsushima Art by Masaki is available now at First in Fragrance in Germany; 80 ml Eau de Parfum. (via firstinfragrance)
Oh, more fruit! Please stay well away from me if you’re wearing this. 🙁
Not just fruit…an EXPLOSION of fruit! Not a pretty picture, but I like the bottle.
I KNOW! an EXPLOSION of fruit… like you left the top off the blender?
🙂
Masaki fragrances are always fruity it feels like they are the same.
The line does seem to lean that way.
ugh, i agree about the fruity. it’s too bad really because i love the bottle and the *name*.
Ditto.
Alacritous! A hyperactive fruity floral… just what we need.
Gotta love the copy. 🙂
It is an odd word choice, but I’m sure they meant as cheerful & eager. Pretty sure, anyway.
An Alacritous opening eh? someone on the marketing staff got a word of the day calendar for Christmas! (how alarming)
I was wondering if that was a translation.
I was so ready to make a scathing remark about the “alacritous”, but I’ve been one-upped. Pout.
Though this Art (awfully grandiloquent today, aren’t we?) doesn’t push any buttons with me, I’d be interested in seeing carambola/star fruit featured in other scents. It has this odd astringent/dry smell which I could see working in perfumery.
You’re in luck — it’s in lots of scents. Do a search on carambola on the right hand column, you’ll see plenty.
Only had to read the first line to know this wasn’t for me. That’s helpful. I like the bottom-half of the bottle, though.
I like the bottle too.
Alacritous = vocabulary word of the day, I agree. Also, carambola = starfruit.
I don’t mind the fruit because bergamot hardly counts, and the others aren’t the usual fruit salad. Probably won’t be on my radar though, so doubt I’ll ever try this.
And who doesn’t need an INFINITE feeling of carefree joie de vivre!?
Might end up at Sephora, but might also take awhile.
…juicy…fruit…Juicy Fruit? As in gum? It’s quite a relieft, really, to read a review that does not inspire instant lemming. And whatever is “linenflower” anyway? Linden? Or something more textile?
No idea. Could be linden.
i really really liked the first mat by this brand/house (in the clear bottle). it was the first full bottle of perfume i bought for myself (as opposed to gifts, random hand-me-downs from sisters). i sort of grew out of it, but still love it. i will definitely give this new one a sniff!!
Oh, how fun — your first bottle! Then you must try this.
Sounds Yummilicious (How Rachel Ray Of Me!) really like the bottle and have never been put off bu a Masaki Fragrance, in fact have nearly loved all of them… loved some of them to death! but this sounds promising! 🙂 though When isn’t Exploding Fruit Fun?
You want me to answer that?
😉
I’m soooo interested in Masaki…the bottles, especially the men’s ones. Not sure about the scent, because there’s no where in London that sells Masaki fragrances. If any one knows, please do get in touch. I’ll definitely go and have a sniff!
Good luck! They’re not easy to find in the US either.
