Agonist Parfums, a niche brand specializing in "unique fragrances embraced by handcrafted Swedish glass", has launched their third fragrance, The Infidels:
The Infidel is inspired by the Nordic climate and culture with its melancholy, and it appeals to a feeling of jealousy and desire.
The notes include blackcurrant, green cumin, bergamot, magnolia, tonka bean, lavender, patchouli, amber and labdanum.
The bottle, which is refillable and comes with a steel pin for applying the scent on the skin, was designed by Åsa Jungnelius of Kosta Boda.
Agonist Parfums The Infidels is available in 50 ml Eau De Parfum, and is currently sold at NK in Sweden. (via press release, more information at Agonist Parfums)
Update: see a review of Agonist The Infidels.
Well, Prix Eau Faux worthy…but I do love the bottle…
Yep.
Hm. I’m curious about this line, though the copy on their site is more than a little overwrought. Also, confusing: I didn’t read the press release but think this is their third “product” but only the second fragrance. #2 was The Infidel and #3 is The Infidels… described as an unlimited edition, but in bottles that are each unique. I’m sure I can’t afford it, but it may have to go on my sample list. Scandophilia rears its head.
I can’t tell if the juice for #2 and #3 is the same…you might be right.
I’m afflicted with Scandophilia, too. That bottle is to die for. And the little pin to apply it? I’m feeling faint….
Stunning bottles. In fact, Agonist #2 – Infidel is making me blush.

How great would it be if P&G or Coty hired Åsa Jungnelius to design the bottles for their latest celebrity scents?
LOL…works for me!
I know! I just saw the bottles for Release #2. I find it obscene. And wouldn’t it be easy to knock over the blue one…?
The little ‘dipping pin’ for applying the fragrance is just DARLING!
It is, although if that’s a real cork stopper, that would worry me.
I want one on my desk! 🙂
Yep, it’s striking!
I’ve never heard of this line before. Actually, I’m not too familiar with any Swedish perfumes except for Byredo Pulp. I’ve tried Laila of Norway which was pretty in a clean sort of way, but it didn’t grab me. I would love to explore this line. If the lavender wasn’t too predominant in The Infidels, I’d give it a try. But assuming how far down the list of notes it is, I imagine it has quite a pronounced presence. Since I work with lavender EOs so often, I don’t like it as a very pronounced note in my perfumes in most cases.
They do sound worth trying.
🙂 I am coming from a “neighbourland” , maybe I am lucky when I visit home at spring and find it.
Let us know!
This sounds and looks pretty interesting..
Could be.
Agonist the Infidels sounds like a Norwegian black metal band.
LOL — so it does!
LOL! I looked at the bottle and it reminded me of a pen and ink well. It is interesting though.
Excuse me, having a Ny-Quil hangover.
Aw, get better!
I had the opportunity to test the Agonist fragrance in Stockholm recently and just loved it!
Unfortunately i couldn’t afford it ; (
520 USD is too much for me, but one day….
Glad to hear it’s worth smelling, thanks!
Thank you, couldn’t find a price on the website. I guess if you have to ask….
I’m now swooning over all three bottles. And blushing a little. Was that some sort of pelt on bottle two?
Uh, yes.
To me, the color of the scent is indicating that this is no lightweight fragrance. It seems like it has a lot of richness to it.
Pretty sure that’s colored glass.
Too bad, not yet available in the US.
