Jill Stuart has launched Night Jewel, a new perfume for women:
A fairy tale that invites you to sparkle, just like Cinderella.
A tale told through a fragrance,
with the birth of a dramatic perfume.
When the magic bottle,
evoking a brilliant black diamond, is opened,
a beautifully sweet story begins to unfold...
Night Jewel was developed by perfumer Alexis Dadier, and features notes of bergamot, neroli, green tea, jasmine, lily of the valley, rose, solar musk, peach, vanilla and wood.
Jill Stuart Night Jewel is available in 30 and 50 ml Eau de Toilette. (via jillstuart-beauty)
Creed has launched Sublime Vanilla:
The first in a new Creed collection called Royal Exclusives, Creed Sublime Vanille is an investment-quality fragrance and object of art from master perfumer Olivier Creed and his son, Erwin. The new collection is one of the most ambitious projects in Creed's history, a statement to the aesthetic world about the legacy, quality and collectability of fragrance as art.
Rich with fine vanilla, a most beloved fragrance element across all times, places and cultures: a truly enduring ingredient. The packaging honors perfumery's finest traditions, still practiced by Creed: hand-blown Pochet glass bottle etched with CREED's crest, multifaceted cut glass stopper that turns bottle into sculpture and gold-and-fabric pump for releasing scent.
The notes include vanilla, tonka bean, bergamot, lemon and musk.
Creed Sublime Vanilla is available for pre-order at Neiman Marcus, $475 for 250 ml. (via neimanmarcus)
I haven’t ever tried any of the Jill Stuart line because a lot of them seem pretty difficult to find. This looks all right, but nothing that would haunt me though the bottle sounds quite pretty.
And Creed? Really… Considering I’ve spent over $500 for two bottles of my favorite vanillas (SDV and Tihota), I don’t know if I even want to try this and tempt myself. Someone needs to drop Creed a line and let them know the economy sucks at the moment. I don’t think they’ve noticed. 😉
Jill Stuart doesn’t seem to distribute her perfumes in the US these days…I think she is concentrating on Asia.
Popping in to mention… The Jill Stuart boutique in NYC (100 Greene St.) carries the fragrances — at least, they had the other two last time I visited, not sure about this new one yet. They also carry the JS cosmetics line, although the sales staff don’t seem too interested in promoting it.
J, thanks…now that rings a bell, I think I knew that (probably from you!) and forgot.
What is solar musk? And Creed-what planet are they living on?
Lol really. Apparently it’s that planet whose atmospheric conditions are conducive to growing the ever fickle coniferous money tree. 🙂
Creed needs to be slapped into reality. I guess this planet they live on is where the “solar” musk comes from too?
Solar musk is a synthetic musk that smells sort of like sun warmed skin…somebody probably has a better explanation, but that’s how I think of it.
I like your definition. Seems to coincide with the name.
That is the first thing that came up into me mind too.
oh god
i hope Creed will release a cheaper version of that to the “mass” market. it sounds delicious.
Not going to hold my breath 😉
R: with Creed, sometimes it’s BEST to hold your breath! And we’re to believe Olivier and Erwin created this??? HA!
In the lab, wearing white coats.
Well, these do not seem to tempt my o- senses. I don’t really care for the smell of peach in a fragrance.
I’m not a big peach fan either. But then, there’s Mitsouko.
“Investment-quality fragrance?” What a bad investment. You don’t wear bars of gold or that YOU-PAID-HOW-MUCH-FOR-THAT Picasso. I’ve not tried any Creed and at those prices, they don’t make it seem like I’m missing much.
I just LOVED “investment quality fragrance”…that was my laugh of the day. Excellent. I’ll use it next time someone in my family complains about what I spend on perfume.
I’ve not had much luck at all with Creed….but how can I not at least sniff something called Sublime Vanilla?? I am, after all , quite the vanilla ho. Didn’t you say the bottle is 250ml? hmmm still pretty darn spendy, but someone, somewhere will split it up…..
Yep, somebody will!
Pear is the last thing, that I want to smell. It smells very sticky on my skin.
Not my favorite either.
‘Investment quality’?? Not sure what to make of that. Treat it like bottle of wine that needs to be aged before it can be properly appreciated? I wouldn’t have the patience – not for $475!
That’s just it: very few perfumes improve with age, and the likelihood of it going up in value over time is minimal.
