G Nejman, a new range from Parfums M Micallef, debuted this year with three fragrances for men: Le Professionnel, Le Sportif and Le Seducteur:
Le Professionnel (shown above) ~ A spicy-herbaceous scent for a man who "wants attention, personality, respect, admiration in his professional life"; notes include bergamot, myrtle, citron, juniper, galbanum, spices, geranium, orange, vetiver, moss, patchouli and leather.
Le Sportif ~ A sporty fragrance for a man who "wants force, energy, reaction, impulse, speed, freshness in his sporting activities"; notes include mandarin, citron, bergamot, grapefruit, melon, cyclamen, marine notes, rosemary, sage, lily of the valley, patchouli, amber and musk.
Le Seducteur ~ A sensual fragrance for a man who "wants to smell and be smelled, have something more to access femininity and the woman, be attractive, creator of romance, seducing"; notes include bergamot, mugwort, mint, galbanum, rosemary, nutmeg, thyme, cinnamon, patchouli, tree leaves, musk, leather, pine balm, moss and honey.
G Nejman Le Professionnel, Le Sportif and Le Seducteur are available in 100 ml Eau de Parfum or in a coffret with all three fragrances. They can be found now at Luckyscent in the US or First in Fragrance in Germany. (via press release)
Obviously I can’t judge because I haven’t smelled it, but based on the ingredients list for Le Sportif, they could have called it a women’s scent and nobody would have batted an eye. Melon, cyclamen, lily of the valley? Maybe the line between men’s and women’s perfumery is starting to erode….
I’m going to assume it’s a translation problem that makes the description for Le Seducteur sound so gross, but “to access femininity and the woman”? Like, a guy’s complaint is that he doesn’t have enough access to women–that they’re unrightfully denying him access? Yuck.
Possibly, but also sounds like a men’s sport scent in the Cool Water mode…and yes, I’m assuming the translation could use some work!
I dont need this, i already have a VIP pass.
Yay!!!! FINALLY a perfume that will give me a “personality”…..I’ve needed one for so long.
LOL! And now you can have 3.
Ad copy is getting funnier all the time.
Is Le Seducteur the first fragrance to have mugwort listed as a note? That’s one I don’t think I’ve seen until now. But even that doesn’t make me want to try these. I also have to agree with Pyramus on both counts.
No, it’s just more commonly listed as artemisia or wormwood.
Hmmmm…..artemisa, wormwood, or mugwort? Were it me, and my intent were to sell a scent, I think I’d opt for artemisa every time. 🙂
Again though, might be a translation issue.
It’s posts like this — the long lists all the notes listed for three scents all together — are the type that I find so difficult for anything to jump out and sound worth trying. These might be terrific though. Also the Memoire Liquide above.
M Micallef does a good job though.
There are too many fragrances this year for anything to jump out, IM(very)HO.
I tried two of the Seas (Yellow and Red), which were fine, but nothing earth-shattering. I should dig out my samples and give them another go.
I haven’t fallen in love with anything from Micallef either, although they are generally well made. Just nothing so far that strikes my fancy.
I think their Gaiac is really nice; so nice I felt it worthy of a decant. If it wasn’t so spendy, I’d lemm a FB.
neat packaging.
Yes, it is!
