Roberto Verino has launched Roberto Verino Gold, a new woody floriental fragrance for women. Gold is for the woman who is "naturally elegant, without showing off, but with the charming aloofness of one who is effortlessly stylish".
Gold was developed by perfumer Olivier Polge; the notes include bergamot, gardenia, rose, jasmine, orris root, white peony, sandalwood, tonka bean, patchouli, musk and white amber.
Roberto Verino Gold is available in 30, 50 and 90 ml Eau de Parfum. (via pyd.es, additional information via moodiereport)
No idea who he is, but my! He’s described me to a T!
Stop laughing.
No, quite sure they’re talking about me.
Sorry, ladies, he’s referring to my garland of flowers…
it’s got that je ne sais quoi!
LOL!
Uncanny! He knows me intimately as well!
(No idea who he is, ether… must be a fan of ours!) 🙂
Exactly.
OK, this sort of cracked me up in light of the recent hullabaloo from the nude cosmetic folks about Stella Nude. Donna Karan came out with Gold recently, and doesn’t Amouage also have a Gold scent?
There have been so many scents called Gold that I seriously doubt you can trademark the name, but don’t know.
Exactly my point! Nude seems like a similar type of word…
But NUDE is apparently a different story! Right.
So I guess ‘woody floriental’ seem to be the new buzzwords in mainstream perfumery
No, they’ve been around for ages, really!
I’m usually the one loving (and perhaps defending!) the ad campaigns but she doesn’t look “charmingly aloof.” More like “awkwardly posed and mildly stoned.”
And I’ve said it before but “floriental” is probably worst words I can think of.
LOL at “mildly stoned” — she sorta does!
Isn’t charming the opposite of aloof?
My first thought is, yes, charming IS the opposite of aloof. I like charming people and am often irritated by aloof people. But then I think about it , and decide that Charming and Aloof are probably just two of the many facets of the same coin, so to speak. Possibly charm is covering a negative emotion of some sort, and “aloof” is covering something too, not just “I am better than you,” or snobbery or something , but mayble some terrible experience the person is going through, or has gone though. Sorry, I know this is a perfume blog, but I can’t resist exploring some idea. 🙂
