Esteban has launched Les Boisés, a new wood-focused collection comprising two fragrances, Bois Velours and Bois Plume:
Bois Velours (shown above left) ~ "Spices are softened by the milky caress of sandalwood. Nutmeg, pepper and grains of paradise become subdued. The rounded warmth of leather with floral notes is subtly felt, giving this wild upsurge the softness of velvet." Additional notes include patchouli, vetiver, cedar, amber and musk.
Bois Plume (shown above right) ~ "Slice of wood… dry with patchouli and cedar… soft with sandalwood and Brazilian rosewood. Traces of bergamot and cardamom weave between the petals of iris and rose. Sweet flowers that fashion a wooden heart in a feathe [sic] fragrance." Additional notes include lavender and cinnamon.
Esteban Bois Velours and Bois Plume are available in 50 ml Eau de Toilette. (quotes via esteban.fr, additional information via extrait.it)
Ok, I said I wasn’t adding any more to my “to be sampled” list until I work through what I have, but….
It never ends!
I think I’m on olfactory overload–everything is starting to look the same to me.
Yeah. It’s a busy fall. It should slow down soon. I hope.
The problem is there are too many niche, commercial fragrance lines .. and all of them wants to launch at lest two fragrances this year O.o
I hope, as robin, that this slow down AND they keep only producing interesting launches. But, only in my dreams this could happen, don’t? rs
HA…but it’s a nice dream 🙂
And my problem may be that I had a sort of decanting disaster last night, and may not want to smell anything for a long time–or perhaps won’t need to, since I think it’s in my bloodstream now.
Miss kitty, did you broke a decant on you and are still smelling the decant over your body or house?
Rick: A little of both, sadly. I think there may have also been some inadvertent huffing involved.
Keep away from naked flames!
Oh no, sorry!
OH NO!! WAS IT THE CORMANDEL????? TELL ME IT WASN’T THAT!!!
Yes… (sobs)
However. That Kenzo UFO might entice me…
What spilled?
See above. I had a hard time with the bottle of Coromandel I was splitting. Everyone will get their share, which is all the matters to me…but my house will probably smell like Coromandel for all eternity and I may never want to wear it again–which might be a good thing, seeing as how I have so little of it left.
Oh dear. Been there, done that.
oh , Kitty, I’m so sorry!!
I’ll probably have to try Bois Velours..it sounds great and Esteban Tonka is one of my all-time favorites, it’s perfect whenever I just can’t decide what to wear
They both sound great to me! Hard to find Esteban in the US though.
The Bois Velours sounds quite yummy to me….seems like we’ve been seeing a lot of nutmeg lately and I love nutmeggy things!
Bois Plume sounded good until I got to lavendar….major deal breaker.
I second the lavender veto – for me it’s just too old lady’s handbag.
Hm, where I find it too “gentleman’s shaving foam”. That said, it’s not an automatic deal-breaker for me. Sometimes it can work, in small doses, as a supporting note.
Yep, shaving cream and major headache… off my list. Velours sounds nice, though.
Mustn’t give up so easy!
Both of these look lovely and perfect for this time of year. If I had all the samples I’m after right now, there’d be an avalanche when I open my mail box. *sigh* It’s not the number of releases that’s overwhelming since many of them aren’t interesting, but the number of *really* intriguing ones that sometimes make sampling feel like emptying the ocean with a teaspoon.
that’s a perfect analogy!
Ditto that!
Yes, exactly! Can’t keep up.
Ahhh, the notes are lovely and the list of must try is getting longer and longer.
Best to keep the list computerized 😉
