Many thanks to everyone who has emailed or commented to wish me good health: I'm better. I started wearing perfume again yesterday, and will be back with a perfume review on Thursday. Meantime, Kevin will have a review of the D&G Anthology fragrances tomorrow.

So I have to ask: after a fragrance hiatus, what did you decide to wear on your first day back?
Diptyque L’Ombre dans L’Eau, because Jessica very kindly picked me up a bottle at that Diptyque sample sale & it had just arrived. I would swear it’s been reformulated just slightly, but it’s still lovely stuff!
Glad you’re feeling better!
Thank you!
Hi Robin, glad you are back to your regular perfume sniffing self. It’s so funny that once we’d been reassured that you would indeed, survive….the very next concern: perfume sniffing/wearing!
We’re a pretty focused bunch! 🙂
Yes you are, LOL…
yeah, sorry–I seem to have a one-track mind. What I meant to say was: I’m so glad you’re feeling better!! 🙂
we were all thinking it.
That Diptyque is one of my faves and should restore you to health! glad to hear it…
It is beautiful!
glad that you’re feeling much better 🙂
Thanks!
Robin – I’m glad you are finally feeling better. Maybe some much needed sunshine is in order too!
It makes me think of a topic for a post: what aromas, smells, etc, make you feel better when you are sick.
For me it would be baking bread or maybe some nice homemade onion soup.
For me, Traditional Medicinals Breathe Easy Tea…which I’ve lived on the past couple weeks!
We have boxes of that one, and the Throat Coat, around here too. Good stuff!
I will have to try the Throat Coat! I also like their Echinacea tea.
The Throat Coat is their clear winner in my book. Not only does it do what it says, but it actually tastes pretty good too…something I find odd, given my usual dislike of licorice.
just testing new gravatar….
Oh, you’ve enabled my laziness! 😀 I keep thinking I need to find one, because your random one and mine were so similar, I’d get confused. Still want to find one eventually, but this buys me a little time. Now, if I could just send you about 15*…We have upper 80s to mid 90s with high humidity and scattered storms all this week. Yuck. Wish my AC actually worked…
Woo-hoo! You’re back on Thursday!
R, can’t remember being sick for this long in YEARS.
I didn’t know you weren’t feeling well, Robin. Glad to know you’re feeling better!
Thanks so much!
Me either. You’re more prolific sick than I am healthy.
Sending you belated ‘get healthy’ vibes…
Happy to hear about the nearly complete recovery…and who knows; the break might contribute to a recharged sniffer. 🙂
Could be…a couple weeks without perfume was actually enjoyable.
Robin,
I’m so glad you are feeling a lot better and you are almost up to snuff–or shall I say sniff!!!
Thanks Filomena!
Happy to hear you’re feeling better Robin, and sorry I can’t help it – a little aromatherapy is in order, don’t you think? 😉
LOL…herbal tea is all the aromatherapy I needed…I don’t like to smell things when I’m sick.
Glad you’re feeling better. Gee, I wonder what recovery smells like for this bunch? For you, it’s L’ombre dans l’eau; does anyone have a favorite smell when they can actually breathe again?
Seriously, the main thing I like to smell when I get better is FOOD…
I’m very glad to know you are feeling better 🙂 !!
Many thanks 🙂
Glad to hear you’re on the mend, R, and that life is worth sniffing again. I’m hoping you didn’t use any of that nasal stuff that can wipe out your sense of smell? I’ve been feverishly (sorry) reading the tiny letters on the side of my medicine packaging…zinc! Quel horreur!
Gracious no!
Ack…..didn’t realize you were under the weather!
L’Ombre dans L’Eau is a good one to help get you back on your feet. Have you ever tried it in their body cream? It’s amazing.
Oh, love your new avatar!!
No, haven’t…and starting to avoid body creams because I seem to be more susceptible to purchase than I am with perfumes, LOL…
Thanks 🙂
Ain’t that the truth! I am such a sucker for body butters. How many could a girl possibly need? Oh wait….this is definitely not the place to ask a question like that! 🙂
Robin, I love the fresh green grass photo, though I keep waiting for a bunny or kitten to leap into the picture! (It’s been a long day, please forgive the near-hallucinations!). I’m very glad to hear that you’re almost recovered – that must have been a very bad bug!
Isn’t that pretty? I have plenty of bunnies in my own yard, eating all the lettuce in the garden.
When I was sick recently I was perfectly happy with Vicks Vapo Rub but I can’t remember what I wore when I could smell again.
SO happy to know your nose and the rest of your body are back in working order.
Thanks Tama!
Rotten to be sick, isn’t it? It’s like the whole world is gray.
So glad you are feeling better.
Yes, it is rotten, esp. in June.
I hope you’re well soon. Being ill in summertime always seems the worst thing… The desire to curl up in a blanket and sip soup just can’t be fulfilled as comfortably in the heat. Take it easy and naps are fantastic for these sorts of things. Hugs.
Naps are wonderful! Thanks.
