Soivohle' (formerly Liz Zorn) has launched a quartet of "bright clean" natural colognes:
Ylang N Pepper ~ "a dry semi floral with a sharp note of pink pepper in the opening, and a hint of spice."
Lavender N Patchouli ~ "a straight up lavender and patchouli scent very clean and expansive with a light amber, vanilla base."
Geranium Rose Mint ~ "refreshing and at the same time understated, slightly floral and a touch rosy."
Vetiver N Guaiac ~ "an exotic pairing of these two notes, vetiver and guaiacwood, with a touch of leather and smoke, very earthy with an extended vetiver drydown."
The fragrances can be purchased separately ($18.50 each, size unknown) or in a set of 4 ($70).
Must try a couple of these. “Underworld” may be the best vetiver ever.
These do sound really nice, and the price is good.
These sound nice! I’ve heard of Liz’s scents, but haven’t tried them.
It’s a big line — I’ve tried some but not all. They’re well done in general…definitely “artisan natural” type scents, which some people like & some people don’t. (In other words, little relationship to mainstream stuff)
I love her Daybreak Violin – a very cool, dry green floral.
That one is pretty!
Ooh, that sounds like one scent I’d like to try!
Where can you buy these? I’m sure there’s some obvious link that I’m missing, so excuse my boneheadness. (Is that even a word? Spell check is saying no.)
Bonehead-ED-ness, Miss K. It’s a word I apply to my own frequent mistakes, which is why I know how to spell it…
Oh, and the website is http://www.soivohle.com.
Thanks–for the link, and for correcting my typo. 🙂 (I really did think, “No, I’m pretty sure that’s a word!” Ha! Well, just further proof that I AM a bonehead.)
If you click on the link in the article, it always takes you to the Perfume Houses entry where you can find out where it’s sold…although yes, in this case, only at her site anyway!
Thanks. I’m still learning on here. 🙂
That geranium rose mint looks really enticing. Although I’ve been burned by mint before. (That didn’t sound right…) I tried Ebba’s Miss Marissa–was dumb enough to buy it blind–and was pretty disgusted by it. (No offense, if anyone loves this–maybe on you it doesn’t smell like Windex topnotes with leftover Indian food heart notes, followed by a drydown of Windex again.)
LOL…two layers of Windex!
Which I have to say, the first round of Windex: not so good. The second? A relief after the weird Indian food accord. But still not good.
Yay – love Liz’s handiwork. Some of these just got added to a very looong Soivohle list.
Let me know if they’re good!
Will do! 😉
I just ordered a sample set of these four fragrances – only $12!! I am so excited to try all of these.
Let us know!
Okey, dokey. 😉
I accidentally got some Ylang n pepper on my leather writing table. It smelled wonderful for days. I really like all four of these scents but I’m partial to the Ylang and the Vetiver N Guaiac.
Thanks for the feedback!
These are all really lovely–the Ylang and Pepper and Geranium Rose Mint are my favorites. Very light and fresh, and different from the typical summer cologne-type of fragrance. Well worth trying.
Thanks!
I received the sample order and here are my thoughts, so far. First, the items are really packaged beautifully and make such a nice presentation – I love that extra touch. I also received a sample of her brand new Mexicali Rose that hasn’t been introduced quite yet. I tried that one first and there was a really interesting note that felt very green and fresh to me in the opening. Liz said that may be the cilantro in the blend, which is such a unique ingredient with the rose I think. I have also tried the Geranium/Mint [lovely, refreshing Summertime scent], Vetiver/Guaiac [warm and comforting], and my favorite so far [as I thought it would be the vetiver one], is the Lavender/Patchouli! I usually have a problem with lavender in perfume, so this was a really unexpected pleasant surprise. I have yet to try the Ylang/Pepper, but I certainly look forward to it as I like all of the scents so far.
Thanks for the detailed notes! They sound wonderful.
